The 1978 fall reunion will be held at Hanover on September 22 and 23, and it is not too early to make your reservation at the Inn. These parties have always been good takes, and this should be the same. Plan to come.
Harriett Batchelder was visiting her daughter at Wayland and took the occasion to deliver to me various papers collected by Batch over the years while working for the Class and the College. Needless to say, they are very complete and a tribute to his zeal. John Shelburne has moved to the Rest Haven Nursing Home at 120 Fisher Ave., Roxbury, Mass. I talked to him on the telephone, and he seems well and happy. I shall go and visit him when I get a chance. I bet he would appreciate a card.
I talked to Jock Murray on the telephone and he says he is making steady improvement. In acknowledging his birthday card, Doc Hodgkins says that some days he had passed the Centen- nial without knowing it. Max Norton called me the other night, and we had a pleasant visit. He says he and Helen are well and digging in for the Hanover winter. I played golf with a friend recently, and he said he had played with DonLovejoy on occasion at Gulfstream.
Nock Wallis and I went to the Harvard game. It was a cold, damp day, and the result did nothing to raise our spirits.
Your secretary plans to spend February and March at the Highland Park Club, Lake Wales, Fla. A good many of the Class will be in Florida for the winter. Sometime an energetic person will organize a get-together.
