By the time this reaches the press, we in New England will have finally dug out from under our heavy snowfall and will have put the coldest January for the past few years behind.
Spring is coming and so is the 15th. Make your plans now to be in Hanover in June and help us thaw out.
If your business needs some promotion, look no further than Goldsholl Associates in Northfield, Ill., where DeWitt Beall operates as an associate producer. The firm specializes in design, commercials, and films for business.
The Lahey Clinic in Boston has signed up our own Elliott Prather Palmer to the associate staff in the department of neurology. The good doctor had previously been affiliated with the Boston University Medical Center and the Boston University School of Medicine. Elliott has settled down in Wellesley along with his wife and two children.
A sure bet to make it in June is Jere Hawkins (Knight will free him to be there). Jere finished up with the Marines in 1965 and in 1970 joined the Industrial National Bank in Providence, R.I., where he was recently appointed manager of the bank's Washington Park office. (The announcement came from the desk of Gene Gasbarro.) The Hawk says that he's rounding into shape for the reunion.
Our news from Georgia this month is not about politics, but about the transplanted southerner, Jim Godsman. Jim is high in the corporate structure of Southern, an Atlanta bond company, where he is vice president of sales. From this position, he directs sales., advertising, promotions, and the business development activities of the company. Jim makes no claim for the successful promotion of Georgians best known peanut farmer. The family (wife Betsy and sons John and David) reside in Atlanta, and are hopeful of making the pilgrimage north in June.
Another follower of the sun belt is Joel Monell, who is now the headmaster of the Phoenix, Ariz., Country Day School, a K-12 coeducational school of 400 students. Joel has been involved with private education since leaving the Navy in 1966 and most recently was affiliated with the Menlo School and College in Menlo Park, Calif. He is on the lookout for Warren Blackstone and Al Lukeman. As class secretary, I thank Joel in advance for his open invitation to all '62s to come to Phoenix, particularly from December through March.
I'll do better next month. In the meantime, gear up those plans for June. In another five years, it will be too late to do much more than remember.
