What a fantastic weekend! Through the leadership and hard work of Prexy Buck Scott, the Class gathered at Hanover for the Yale game. Headquarters was at Quechee where several beautiful condominiums were at the disposal of the Class. John Bassette '55, a local realtor, was the driving force behind this part of the weekend and he performed his function admirably. Now for a rundown of events.

The festivities began with the traditional torchlight parade to the front of Dartmouth Hall followed by a pep rally. This was Dartmouth Night and messages of congratulations and reaffirmation of loyalty to the College were received from "round the girdled earth." The Class of '82 did its thing by constructing a mammoth bonfire that certainly took the chill off a cool October evening.

From here we journeyed east on Wheelock Street to the home of Nita and Mike Choukas who hosted a lovely cocktail party. A substantial contingent mixed good cheer with reminiscence - a tried and true recipe for good times at Dartmouth functions. Mike, by way of report, returned to Hanover about a year ago to head up the leadership-gift operation for the Campaign for Dartmouth.

Saturday morning the executive committee held its annual meeting at the Quechee Club. I can report that the treasury is healthy and the future looks bright. A complete rundown will be forthcoming from Buck. Next stop on this weekend odyssey was Wheelock House where Peter Martin held an open house in his foundation's headquarters. And then it was on to the Breeds. Hospitality was the order of the day and though very damp weather forced us to move the "tailgate" party indoors, the spirits of the crowd were far from dampened. The game started in the rain and both the weather and Dartmouth's fortunes improved as the day moved on and Dartmouth took the match 10-7.

Saturday evening a class dinner was held at the Quechee Club. About 90 classmates, family, and friends ate and drank heartily. Sunday was a day to do your own thing, be it leafwatching, visiting, or just plain relaxing. All in all, the more than 40 classmates who journeyed to Hanover for this mini-reunion found it everything they could have wanted.

Now for some of those who were in attendance. Dick Miner reports he is senior staff analyst - computers for Honeywell. Son Bob carries on the Dartmouth tradition in the Miner family as a member of the Class of '81. Dick's father was a member of the Class of '21. It seems every 30 years a Miner surfaces on the Hanover Plain. Dick still enjoys singing and is part of a 14-man group that entertains around Eastern Massachusetts. Norma is involved in real estate and having fun at it.

One of the midwestern contingent was NedHoeppner. He serves the Illinois Bell Telephone Company as general rate and tariff supervisor. As Ned puts it, the job entails "the setting of rate levels for telephone company services and testifying before the Illinois Requesting Commission." He and Maurine have three children.

Pete Henderson, also from the Chicago area, is associate dean at the Graduate School of Management of Northwestern University. Pete is involved in administrative duties, student-related problems, external relations, financial planning, and anything else that needs doing. He reports: "All wrapped up in big family (seven, including our first Dartmouth student in the Class of '82). We enjoy company of '51 delegation in Winnetka which includes Balderston, Bovaird, Hilton, Badgely, Chandler plus frequent transients. School Board duties at Winnetka elementary are my major extra- curricular interest."
