These final class notes are being written for the June issue, which means our 30th either is now history or is about to take place, depending on when the magazine is delivered. Regardless, I know that thanks to the hard work of HamChase and friends it was (will be) a memorable occasion.
An item in Printing News tells of a promotion for Joe Flounders, who has been named corporate vice president for marketing services by the Lindenmeyr Paper Corp. Joe joined Lindenmeyr via its acquisition of Schuylkill Paper Co. in 1962. He had joined Schuylkill after college and a wartime stint as a Marine Corps officer.
Joe will head a new and expanded companywide program of recruitment and training in addition to his other duties.
Word has been received, too, that GeorgeDuncan has joined the Greenwich office of North American Company for Property and Casualty Insurance as vice president, reinsurance claims. He previously was vice president and claims -manager for the Munich American Reinsurance Co. The Duncans and their two sons live in Blauvelt, N.Y.
And still another promotion to report. Anthony Cantella has been elected senior vice president of Josephthal & Co., Inc. He joined the brokerage firm as a general partner when Cantella & Co. was acquired by Josephthal in 1974. He previously was with Prince Macaroni Co. as vice president and a member of the board of directors, a position he still holds. The Cantellas live in Middleton, Mass., and have one daughter.
And now, as the sun sets slowly in the West, it's time to step aside and let the new class secretary take over. Keep him informed of your activities, your travels, your grandchildren, whatever. I shall be looking forward to the column eagerly, in the fall.
