Cross & Brown Company, New York's largest independent real estate service firm, announced recently that David L. Hoffman has been elected executive vice president. Dave has an M.B.A. from Tuck School, is married, and lives in Manhattan.

Another Tuck grad, Pete Heegaard, has been named deputy manager of the trust department at Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis. Pete will also continue as manager of the investment department. A chartered financial analyst, he joined the bank in 1960 and has been a senior vice president since 1974.

Robert B. Keller has been named to the medical staff of Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast, Maine. Dr. Keller has been in practice at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. He has also served as a consultant to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for services to handicapped children and was regional medical director for the Department of Public Health. By this time, Dr. Keller, his wife Sarah, and their four daughters should be relocated in the Belfast area.

When Paul Zeller directed his final concerts before retiring during reunion week, he graciously asked former members of the Glee Club to come up on the stage to join in "Men of Dartmouth." As I looked across the ranks, I saw many a tear glisten as this much-admired man gracefully left the Dartmouth scene. No one was in better voice or looked more youthful on the stage than Phil Stoddard. Phil told me that he specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with greatest emphasis on head and neck malignancy. His offices are in Springfield, Mass., and he services five area hospitals. Phil has continued singing when time permits. He sang with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and the Boston Symphony Orchestra during the past two years. He introduced us to his wife Carol, who is an occupational therapist specializing in hand rehabilitation. Phil and Carol were married in August 1978.

One of the many pleasant visits during reunion was with Bob Downey and his wife Nancy. Bob is a general partner of Goldman Sachs and Company, the investment banking house. He specializes in state and local finance. This year he is chairing the municipal finance committee of the Securities Industry Association, so he is spending a great deal of time in Washington, D.C. Bob and Nancy divide their time between New York City during the week and Gypsy Trail Club in Carmel, N.Y., on weekends. With two children fairly far along in school, the Downeys are starting again with a new baby expected in December. Bob is also the class regional Alumni Fund agent in New York City.

New England native Frank Sands recently moved to Norwich, Vt. His first experience there was wintering in a "rustic" farmhouse with no heat, water, or plumbing while a new house was being readied for occupancy. Frank commutes several times a week to his employment at Sands, Taylor & Wood Company, America's oldest flour company (dating from 1790), in Andover, Mass. He sorts out his life and problems during the 114-mile commute.

In addition to electing Joel Portugal as class president, we also chose John Otis as our new treasurer. John succeeds Fred Pitzner, who left the class financial records in excellent condition. Congratulations to John and thanks to Fred for a job well done.

The class executive committee received a new member from an under-represented area. Dave Maryatt of Seattle, Wash., was elected to the 25-member committee. Dave is in a number of business ventures in the Seattle area, including construction.

Ben McAdams and wife Pat came from San Luis Obispo, Calif., for reunion. Ben is an orthopedic surgeon in that lovely coastal town north of Los Angeles. He and Pat have five children, the oldest of whom is now at the University of California at Davis. Ben is on the local school board and flies with the Los Medicos Voladores.
