Last month's column had been reserved for Toby Julian and his update of our 25th reunion plans. But his update was lost somewhere between New Jersey and Vermont, to which he commutes weekly to enjoy his marvelous home high on the hill in Thetford and to play golf in Hanover. But you will hear from Toby shortly regarding some exciting plans for 1981.
Doug Keare is commuting weekly to Princeton from his Washington, D.C., area home to teach a little, research some, and write a lot. His book will be an evaluation of government projects on which he has worked. An expose? Ted Bremble has been commuting to Europe recently on business. Did you know his daughter is a freshman at Dartmouth and his wife owns and operates a flourishing sportswear business? Ted is proof that nice guys do, in fact, Win ball games. George Records commutes to palm Springs when he has the chance to enjoy His newly-acquired condominium. Rumor has it that George is playing some good golf, both in Oklahoma City and in the desert. Joe Obering has been known to commute on a regular basis to Southeast Asia, although he still prefers the commute from the bottom of Vail to the top, where he spends much of his time, as evidenced by the fact that he is often mistaken for a ski instructor, so good is his skiing.
However, the commuter-of-the-month award must go to Pete Hovell, who commutes with his wife from Dallas to Connecticut and owns homes in both places.
Meanwhile, I still commute to the local Dairy Queen, hoping to run into a classmate who can share some news as I lick my chocolate-covered banana.
