As we write these notes, it is a lot easier to think about the tropical sunshine the Bents enjoyed for the month of March than to concentrate on the work at hand. It was certainly good while it lasted, and we heartily recommend St. Croix as a winter vacation spot.
Lee Harwood writes from Charleston, S.C., that they enjoy life there after two years but still spend some time in New York where he had lived since 1924.
Also Earl Carmody sends along a cheery note, with a bit of poetry, no less (but all poetry is published in the " '24 Hour Notice").
It was good to read in the " '24 Hour Notice" that Stan Lonsdale's health has improved, at least sufficiently to produce a letter to Butts Lamson, containing comments and Stan's usual words of wisdom.
Bill Gardner has announced his retirement from the practice of medicine.
Arland Schoonmaker regrets that their attendance at the 55th is doubtful, because of Gwen's health. We will miss them.
The biggest news now is, of course, the 55th, which is nearly upon us, and here is the latest word from reunion chair Dave Dyche:
"When you read this, the opening day of our reunion, June 8, will be just weeks away. There is still time—but not too much — for any member of the 1924 family to make arrangements to become a part of what may well be a record turnout for a 55-year reunion." Just give Dave a call or a note. Let's hope his last statement is true. We look forward to seeing you there.
