The time is now, as we head into the holiday season, to make plans for the reunion this June. So when making holiday plans, put aside some of your hard-earned cash. The dates will be June 19-21. Reunion dorms will be Butterfield, Sage, and Hitchcock. The reunion committee will have "intent" cards to us by January or February, but now is the time to begin planning. The record turn-out of the class of '74 (208 out of 900) is within easy reach.
Reunion committee members Judy Burrows Csatari and Martha Hennessy joined Jay "Heathcliff" Josselyn for an executive committee meeting in September. Yours truly was doing research work in the Baker stacks and arrived a bit late for the meeting. Judy is still working for the admissions office evaluating and recruiting potential green scholars and not-so-green scholars. Martha is married to Steve Severson '74 and attends Wharton B-school where she is escorted by the youngest member in the history of that famed institution: her child. Josh is still working in Lewiston, Maine, for the Dunlap agency. His wife Pat is a pharmacist and they are the proud parents of Brutus and Jet. Figure that one out.
New York: William M. Saubert has been named a manager in the administrative service division of the New York office of Arthur Andersen & Co., the international accounting firm. The press release also stated "Bill and wife Mary live in Forest Hills, N.Y." Way to go, Bill.
Apologies to Joe "with an 'M' " Maffione, your name was miss-typed by my executive secretary, Delia Street. By the way, how was the wedding?
Jeff Krolic telephoned to inform us that Fraser Marcus has been made vice president of Salamon Bros., the investment banking firm in N.Y.C.
Our monthly marriage line has Kirk Barker and Margot Schaaf '79 tying the knot on August 31 in Garden Grove, Calif. Wedding party members included Debby Sortor Parnon '79 as matron of honor, Kipp Barker (hope the twins didn't get mixed up) as the best man, and Jim Paukert as an usher. Other grads included Tom Parnon (better known as Mr. Debby Sortor) and Danny Pulvers, along with assorted members of other green classes.
According to Kirk, "we met at Dartmouth in 1975-76 when we both lived in Wheeler Hall. We are now living in Garden Grove, Calif. On our honeymoon in Hawaii we ran into another Dartmouth newly-wed, Alan Wolfe '77 and his bride." Wah hoo wha! Congrats, Kirk, from all. Or was it Kipp? Good luck, Margot!
Seen during the Dartmouth-Penn weekend were: Don Colacchio, medicaling at the Dartmouth Med school; Jud "remember me"Porter, tucking at Tuck; Dan Tomlack, dental surgerying in Connecticut (Dan's wife Sue needs immigration help . . . please write); Rheino and Ken Norton, seen at Peter Christian's. That recap shows what shape some were in that fine weekend.
Classmate of the month: this relayer for abstaining from uisng the word excellent, the most over-used word of 1980. I gag everytime I hear it used. Good night.
