More good news has crossed my desk. The Shaeffer Eaton division of Textron has appointed William Wendell to the newly-created position of manager, mass markets. Bill worked his way up the rungs of the company ladder, formerly serving as a product manager of this division. Before that, he was with the Carter's ink division of Dennison Manufacturing Company. In his new position Bill will direct marketing and product development activities in connection with the company's mass market distribution system.
Word has also been received that RichardMorton has been named assistant district attorney for Franklin, Oxford, and Androscoggin counties in Maine. The position is a part-time one, and Dick will continue his association in private practice with Benjamin Butler in Farmington, Maine, his home town. After graduating from Dartmouth, Dick attended Boston University Law School and then was admitted to both the Maine and Massachusetts bars. For the next five years, he served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps in Korea and Germany. Somehow, Dick also has time to serve as a legislation research assistant in the Maine State Senate and to act as proud parent, with his wife Anne, of son John.
I was sorry that I did not realize that Stephan McKeown had an exhibition of his sculpture in January 1980 at the Robert Freidus Gallery in New York's Soho district, which has become famous for its galleries. A brochure pictures quite a handsome 1979 work, which appears to be of wood, titled "Slopes and Arches."
I take great pleasure in conveying to the class news of Robert Rudney's recent marriage. Bob and Joelle Durbin were married February 2 in Grasse, France. Bob is currently working in the Pentagon. Bob and Joelle may be congratulated in Arlington, Va., upon their return from France.
