Dartmouth College is presenting "The People's Republic of China: A Dartmouth Alumni College Abroad" from October 13 to November 2, 1980, at a rate per person of $3,845 (double occupancy). Sounds executive, extensive, expensive! On the other hand, the class of 1945 is presenting its 35th reunion on June 9, 10, and 11, 1980, at a rate of under $100 per person (various occupancy). Sounds great! Why wait? What a rate! Bring your mate or a date, or come as one, three, or eight!

This is just by way of introduction to saying that our reunion chair, Steve Hull, has already gone from high gear into overdrive on plans for our 35th. Reports from Bob Paulson, our reunion treasurer, indicate that there are a number of first-timers returning some from such great distances as Bogota, Columbia (AlvaroPradilla). Those of you who live relatively nearby in the northeast part of this country, and are still sitting on the fence, please take the step and sign up. There has also been an excellent response to the glee club reunion performance concept for all of us and our respective wives who like to sing. So join the group and add your voice preference to the sign-up sheet. Finally, classmates who are considering motels instead of reunion dormitories are really cheating themselves, because they will be much less aware of what is going on. Incidentally, the proposed name for your reunion glee club is "Not Quite Ready For Prime Time Singers!"

I received a very nice letter from FredChamberlin, who is developing his own business as an Amway distributor in Portland, Ore. He has located an apartment large enough to conduct meetings in and has about 50 customers so far. He came to Portland in September 1978 to be closer to his children, Roy and Liz, after he was divorced. His mother is in a convalescent center in Milford, N.H., and turned 93 on March 20. His brother Roy '38, minister of the Congregational Church in Brookline, N.H., has an opportunity to visit her quite frequently. Fred sings in the choir of the Hinson Memorial Baptist Church as well as soloing in a number of nursing homes. I have many fond memories of Fred's family. He and I were also classmates at Vermont Academy and I took a very in- teresting course under his dad Roy, one of the editors of The Dartmouth Bible. Fred hopes to join us at reunion time. Come on back, y'hear.

Browsing through the March 24 edition of the Boston Herald American, I happened to spot a letter to the editor by Moe Frye, who was berating Boston sports writers for not giving more credit and more copy to the Big Green hockey team. Right on, Moe! I'm afraid that also applies to other Big Green teams. Too bad that Boston is such a provincial town!

Now for one more reminder: DON'T FORGET OUR 35th REUNION, JUNE 9, 10, and 11!
