The class was represented by a full complement of officers and their wives (with the exception of the Holmlunds, who were enroute from Green Valley) at class officers weekend on May 2 and 3. The scheduled meetings were most informative and included an address by the president covering many aspects of his ten years in office. It is always interesting for the class officers to meet with their counterparts in other classes and with the College officers, in conference as well as socially.

A meeting of the class executive committee was held on Saturday afternoon, with favorable reports from all officers. Stan Chittick reported that the class is solvent, and he and Beatie Adams reported a most favorable response to the letters which Stan sent to the widows. The class has the largest number of dues-paying widows of any class, and Beatie maintains con- tact with over 100 widows. Earl Daum reported satisfactory progress on the Alumni Fund and emphasized the challenge fund, which matches gifts from classmates who have not given in past years. Don Wilbur gave an interesting summary of the various phases of the College since our time as regards costs, faculty, and ad- ministration. And the secretary summarized the present status of the class by reporting that we now have a total of 242 living members 176 graduates and 66 non-graduates.

The Wheatleys have been on a Dartmouth cruise of the British Isles for several weeks.

Congratulations to Robin Robinson, who was cited in the April issue of the MAGAZINE as hav- ing the longest tenure for the faculty and ad- ministration. Robin joined the Math Depart- ment in 1928 and was also registrar from 1958 to 1968. Since his retirement he has continued to serve as a consultant on student enrollment;

Larry Hewes was a participant on March 13 in a dialogue at the Center for the Study ° Democratic Institutions at the University ° California in Santa Barbara. The discussion centered on a paper presented by Dr. Alexander Dallin of Stamford on the subject of ' T"e Road to Kabul: Soviet Perceptions of World Affairs and the Afghan Crisis." Larry is currently an associate at the center. He and his wife have spent several weeks in Santa Barbara this spring.

The Holmlunds have returned to their summer home in Falmouth after spending the winter months in Green Valley.

Da*e and Julie Dyche stopped in Green Valley, en route to Mexico, long enough to visit the Holmlunds and Jeanette French.

The Blodgetts observed their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5, receiving flowers and gifts from many friends and relatives. With them on that day were their sons Putnam '53 and Leland.

Following this issue, the secretary is on leave until fall, but in the meantime all news of in- terest will be welcome. Have a good summer.
