Kathryn Potter wrote, "Herb is doing well. He is in a small, good nursing home. Julia and I had a nice vacation in Hawaii in July. We liked the people and the peaceful atmosphere no smog there."

A note from Dale Barker advises he is home for good from the Cape and that Al Bull is booked to go to Florida November 14. Glad to know he is feeling well enough to do this.

Margaret Hitchcock "spent the summer in New London, N.H. My son Dave and his wife Lee, with three grandchildren, stayed near for about six weeks. Dave gave the annual speech for the Friends of Colby-Sawyer Library, and everyone thought he was splendid. He spoke on Israel, from which he and Lee returned last June after four years. They go to Tokyo Embassy in September, where he will be head of the C.I.A."

Mary M. Kulen advised that her mother, Mary C. Shea, widow of Edward J. Shea, died on August 12.

Dale Barker received a phone call from Joanne Pendleton Allgood, to report that her dad, John Pendleton, had died April 16 at his home in Dunedin, Fla. A memorial service was held at the Congregational Church in Melrose, Mass., on September 3. An obituary will appear in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.

Would like to get more cards returned with news of classmates and widows, so there will be something to write about in upcoming issues of the MAGAZINE. Hope you all had a nice summer.
