I've received some interesting news from classmates across the country during the past few months, so without any further excuses, let's get on with it.
First, kudos to Donna Ferretti for a great job as our head agent. The College recently, honored Donna with the John R. Mason Award for being the outstanding agent for a class one to ten years out of college. Congratulations, Donna.
And congratulations, too, for a few new arrivals. Pete and Martha Smith are the proud parents of newborn Brian Jeremy Smith. Peter is currently assistant vice president of the Barnett Bank in Jacksonville, Fla.
And Brad Little and his wife Meg recently announced the birth of their daughter, Enslin Barner Driscoll Little. Brad is currently president of Executone of New Hampshire, a company specializing in public-address systems.
Finally, the Dartmouth baby boom continues with Mike Keller and his wife Fay (Skidmore '74) having their first child, Heidi Marie, on October 25, 1980. They live in Salt Lake City where Mike is a natural resources attorney and Faye is a reference librarian.
Wayne Henshaw was recently engaged to Deborah Joyce of Needham, Mass. Wayne is a doctoral candidate at the University of West Virginia in the field of clinical psychology.
Phil Catchings writes from Harvard Business School (where he's a classmate of Ray Sansouci that "after two years in social work and five years with AT&T, I'm working on my M.B.A. at Harvard Business School. Healthy, happy, and still single with no known children."
Bill Mayer is now married and is residing in the Washington, D.C., area. After a clerkship with the U.S. Court of Appeals, he is now lawyering for Covington and Burling. After Dartmouth, Bill graduated from University of Virginia Law School.
Finally, congratulations to my friend, DickHefler, who recently married Anne Maclntyre in California. Dick is the editor/writer of Currents magazine in Marnia del Ray, Calif., and is also a free-lance writer of screenplays (he's written three). Anne is associated with Furia/Oringer Production in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Dick also received a degree from the Oklahoma Farrier's College in Sperry, Oklahoma, and in his spare time is a practicing orthopedic farrier in the West Los Angeles and Malibu areas. He is jokingly referred to as the "horseshoer to the stars" because some of his clients include Olivia Newton-John, Jack Nicholson, Stacey Keach, and Billy Preston.
We recently received a photo taken of several dubious Dartmouth gentlemen at Dick and Anne's wedding. Unfortunately, we can't reproduce it here. The picture included DaveClark '73, Bruce Sanborn '74, Leo McCusker '74, Dick, Chuck Higdan '73, Bruce McLane '72, and Tom Kent '72. Dick and Ann, despite your questionable choice of friends, we wish you luck!
That's all the news that fits. See you next month with a report from Fritz Meyer's wedding.
