Greetings from Minnesota home of the mosquito. Thanks, folks, for permitting me to be class secretary. What could be more exciting than the prospect of five years of crank mail from old classmates? In all honesty, I am grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to hearing from you. Permit me to warn you at the outset that any dearth of news from you will be met with an entire column devoted to wedding announcements. So fork out 20 cents and surprise me.

Top billing this month is naturally a Minneapple event. In August the "All-Green Rugby Side" (a Dartmouth alumni team made up of members of different classes) participated in the Aquatennial Rugby Tournament here in town. Members of our class playing for the AllGreen included Mark Thompson, who lives in New York City and works on Wall Street; Bill Jarrett, a recent graduate of the Yale Business School and a newlywed who also lives in the Big Apple and works on Wall Street; Brian Deevy, the class Adonis who lives and plays in Denver; and Jack Olbrych, who recently graduated from the Amos Tuck School of Business and now works for the State Street Bank in Boston. The All-Green fared well, beating a touring side from Rugby, England, in the semifinals before succumbing to the hometown favorites in the finale. Sorely missed was JeffreyMcKee, who remained in San Francisco to bolster the domestic scene.

On the medical front, Dan Fairman wrote of his graduation from the St. Louis School of Medicine. His residency in internal medicine will be in Kansas City, Kans. For the record, Dan escaped from his wedding plans and is once again traveling solo. In Los Angeles, Jordan Tannenbaum received the "Outstanding Resident Award" at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center. By now he should be practicing his art in Oneonta, N.Y. Congratulations are due to the Gene Bonners, as Isabel Finkbiner Bonner has written of the birth of her second son, Charles.

From Cupid come the following tales. In August, Drew Kintzinger married Meghan Engelhardt in Dubuque, lowa. This spring Drew also took on the head class agent's job. In his spare time he practices law. Drew and Meghan currently reside in lovely Minneapolis.

Last April, John Cavanagh was married to Robin Broad in Geneva, Switzerland. At last word, John was working for the World Health Organization in Geneva. Back on the Hanover Plain, Diane Arsenault exchanged vows with Peter Pirnie at Aquinas House. In June, Daniel Lucey and Randi Isaacs, both graduates of the Dartmouth Medical School, were married in Rollins Chapel. They will be participating in internal medicine residencies in San Francisco. Other classmates in the wedding were best man Bob Connelly, Craig Berry, and RobertYonemoto.

This summer Mark Fidler traveled to the chapel at Brown University to wed Tobey Dubois. Mark is currently a teacher at the Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Mass. Don Givler has written of his marriage to Amy Middendorf last April in Fairfax, Va. Other Dartmouth folks in attendance were Bob Purcell, Suzanne Patton, Charlie Potts '76, Al Groves '75, Mark Hartman '79, Chris Funk Purcell '78, Lee McCune '78, and Anne Voight McCune '78. Don has graduated from Georgetown Medical School and will be doing his residency in family medicine in Lancaster, Pa.

Last, but certainly not least, the Bear, John McKeon Jr., tied the knot with Debra Gill. John, having graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, will be doing his residency in Springfield, Mass.

Before I leave this seemingly inexhaustible topic, I entreat you to send descriptive details with your announcements. Rarely do the blurbs in the local journals print the choicest information.

While crossing the University of Minnesota campus with its 55,000 students recently, I ran across Omar Johnson. He was taking 26 credits (average is 15) and working 24 hours a week as a mechanic. Omar said it was just a bit different than Dartmouth. After biking around the country this summer, he will return to school to complete his teaching certification. According to Omar, Rich Brynteson is suecessfully baffling the corporate community in Cincinnati after graduating from the University of Chicago Business School.

Out of a mailbag forwarded to me by Lindsay Larrabee Greimann, who by now should be happily entrenched with Garth Greimann in Seoul, South Korea, come the following outdated tidbits. John "Muggsy" Mugglebee writes, "I'm pumping out unpublished novels. My imagination is far superior to my actual life, so I'm taking advantage of it. In the interim I pay rent by teaching the declining discipline of English at a local ghetto high school."

Stacy Miller Morin, former hockey great, is still working on her M.S. at the University of Maine at Orono. She moonlights as a cartographer for Diamond International in Old Town, Maine. Mike Julian graduated from the Western New England College of Law, and has spent two years as a district court prosecutor. Mike plans to run for state senator in Massachusetts this fall.

Kent Dauten has written, "Liz and I have recently moved to a larger condominium still in the heart of downtown Chicago. Am still enjoying my job in the venture capital business here at First Chicago." Down in Phoenix, Tali and Talia Arik had their first child, Doran Gabrielle, last February. Tali is an internal medicine resident there.

Finally, Charlie Adams and his wife Lynn are enjoying the good geological life in Idaho. If any of you have a spare mule, some hardtack, and a little extra time, you can visit them at 2404 Jackson, Caldwell, Idaho.

Enough is enough. Is anyone else out there fighting forest fires besides Edy Ullman? Let us know. My mailbox patiently awaits your efforts.
