In October I received word that David Stanley had joined Steiner Financial Corporation of San Francisco as vice president and general counsel. Best wishes to you in your new endeavors, Dave!

From Beaver College, Glenside, Pa., came the news of Edward Wolffs being named to chair the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, effective September 1, 1982. Ed joined Beaver in 1977 and was previously a teaching associate at U. Mass. and a math teacher at Coventry, Conn., High School. He has received the "Teacher of the Year Award" from Coventry High; the "University of Massachusetts Distinguished Teaching Award"; and the "Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching" at Beaver College. Ed has written publications on statistics and presented papers on "measure of dependence" at national conferences of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America. In conjunction with two others, he has developed a complete, computer-assisted instruction system for use at Beaver, including a new computing language. Ed holds his M. A. in mathematics and Ph.D. from U. Mass. Well done, Doc!

Get your resumes ready! Line Eldredge joined Ward Howell International Inc., one of the nation's oldest and largest executive search firms, as a partner, based in the Southwest regional office in Dallas. Line began his business career at Doubleday Publishing Company as a manager of the college department. He then joined Northrup Inc. as executive vice president and director of corporate affairs and later became executive vice president and director of marketing. Before joining Ward Howell he was a vice president of Heidrick and Struggles, another executive search firm. He holds a master of divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School and an M.A. from Boston College. He completed his Ph.D. residency in religion and society at the joint graduate program of Boston College and Andover Newton.

Ed Heald wrapped up last year coaching youth soccer, active in church functions, enjoying the development of his own two boys, serving as a trustee of the Middlesex Institution for Savings in Concord, Mass., and having "interesting times," as we can well imagine, in the securities business. Sue was busy with the Red Balloon Nursery School and refereeing field hockey games!

Bill Clark, in Pepperell, Mass., ran into Larry Smith while out on his cross-country boards last winter and was trying to chase down Steve Franzeim, who lives in the area. He sees Bill Rapf on occasion, and Rich DuMoulin paid a visit last March while giving a seminar at the Harvard Business School.

Happy holidays to all!
