Your secretary is thankful for the respite from the "deep freeze" pervading this area for the past month, permitting him to emerge from his igloo to dispatch these notes.
Now that Don Cheney has recovered from the severe accident incurred last February, it appears that he was destined to acquire further honors beyond those already achieved in the course of his long and distinguished career. In a resolution adopted by the city council, December 9, 1981, was proclaimed "Judge Donald A. Cheney Day" in the city of Orlando, in recognition of his civic devotion for the past 65 years. The highlight of this designated day was a testimonial dinner at the Masonic Temple of Orlando, an edifice which the guest of honor had taken a very active interest in promoting. This was a fitting tribute to a native son who had so unsparingly devoted a great part of his adult life to the developing betterment of a community and who became 93 years of age on January 23, 1982. Congratulations, Don, and may the torch you lighted burn ever brightly in and around the city of Orlando!
