Wedding bells are ringing again for 1932 classmates!

At our mini-reunion last fall in Hanover, we were all pleased to see a happy and beaming Bob Reinhardt with his new wife Helene (Hanlon). The photograph below shows them all smiles!

On December 22, 1981, Milt Alpert of Pompano, Fla., was host to a bachelor luncheon for Ev Stuhrman, who was getting married the next day to Laurie (French). Other classmates present at this gay occasion were Bob McConnochie and your secretary. Ev gave us all explicit instructions and advice for the assurance of wedded bliss. This happy-looking couple is also pictured below.

Joe Boldt's book, Outward Bound, is good reading and is getting excellent reviews. Ping Ferry reports that the 1932 reunion book, "Warming Up For Fifty Years," is working steadily toward the printer and will be in the hands of subscribers a month or more before our 50th reunion. Ping urges all classmates to send in their checks to the temporary treasurer for this enterprise, Babe Weinberg (180 East End Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10028). Ping says in his recent letter, "I've had fine cooperation from two dozen noble contributors and from the officers of the class," and "the readers will have delights and surprises and questions awaiting them - but only if they send Babe an order and $15." Only a total of 170 or so books are available and as of early January these were going fast.

Joe Byram and Bill Allyn of Naples, Fla., recently entertained newly-arrived Naples resident Chuck Adkins. Chuck writes that he is "nicely settled" and gives us some information about one of his daughters, Jameson Adkins Baxter, "who has been named a trustee of Mount Holyoke and a member of the financeexecutive committee. She is also vice president for corporate affairs at the First Boston Corporation (New York)." As they say, the apple never falls too far away from the tree!

Judge Milt Alpert has been elected to chair the trustees of the General Employees Retirement System in Pompano Beach, Fla.

The Theta Delta Chi Achievement Award for 1981 went to none other than Carlos Baker. This honor is an annual award "given to that Theta Delt who most distinguished himself in service to the fraternity."

Ed Marks, hard at work on our 50th year reunion book, wrote some time ago that "on Cape Cod last summer I had a most delightful reunion with Charlie Mayo and his wife Ing. Ing was very ill but is now much improved. Charlie's son Stormy '65 takes out parties for whale-watching, and it's apparently a great experience. I get seasick and alas had to pass it up! Charlie himself is still taking out charter parties on the latest version of his Chanty for tuna fishing."

Dr. George Hahn recently wrote that he is considering moving his office to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, being forced to face this decision because of "the tremendous escalation of malpractice premiums." I hope I am reporting this correctly!

Harry Rowe reports to us that he "was surprised to see Art Allen on crutches. He has had one of those hip replacement operations that Johnny Richardson had a year ago. Art skipped around so nimbly up and down the stairs to Smoyer lounge at the hockey stadium in Hanover, that I assumed the operation was just as successful as Johnny's." Which it was, we have heard from Art's wife Dobbie! Harry also reports that he recently heard from Stu Thatford, who "sent one of his rare letters in reply to one from me urging him to come on from Arizona for our 50th."

The big news of the month is that Harry Rowe and a boyhood friend of his living in Albuquerque, N.M., placed an advertisement in the Albuquerque Journal to try and locate Roland Sundown. As a result, Sunny's daughter and only child, Ramona, wrote the alumni office a very touching letter saying that Sunny had had an automobile accident and fractured his hip last May, and was now residing in a nursing home in Santa Fe. With this information, I located the nursing home and immediately telephoned Sunny. Although he did not completely remember me, I immediately recognized his fine, deep baritone voice that I hadn't heard in almost 50 years. Sunny indicated that he was "able to get around" and wanted to know more about our reunion. He asked me to write to him, and I am sure that many of his classmates will write to him also, and encourage him to come to our 50th — onjune 11, 12, and 13. His address: Roland B. Sundown, Granada de Santa Fe Inc., 313 Camino Alire, Santa Fe, N.M. 87501.

Your obedient servant,

These two happy-looking '32 couples have good reason for their smiles, for both are newly married. On the left are Helene (Hanlon) and Bob Reinhardt, who spent part of their honeymoon at 1932'smini-reunion last October; they plan to return to Hanover for the class's 50th reunion in June. And on the right are Laurie (French) and Ev Stuhrman, who were married in December in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; they're also planning to come north for the 50th.
