The nasty old calendar tells me it's time once again to gin up a '67 class column. This means another month - February has vanished up the flue without a trace. I'm scurrying about my office, trying to get things sufficiently organized so I can get out of here for two weeks' Naval Reserve training duty in Portland, Maine. Ah, the joys of being twice a citizen and a class secretary to boot. . . .

I've discovered a little problem with my postcard news solicitation mailings. If the recipient doesn't place his full name on the return portion of the card, I have to do some pretty wild guessing to know about whom I'm writing. That's by way of a disclaimer, in case I goofed on the next item.

Bill Adams has teamed up with Doug Halsted '69 in a surgical practice in the Boston area, specializing in complicated hand operations. Bill's practice also encompasses plastic surgery. Lynn is active in the community and with the children Emily, seven, Christopher, six, Will, five, and Thomas, four. (As I think about it, maybe I read Bill's card incorrectly. Maybe he means Lynn is active with the children, who are the community!)

After 11 years of active Army duty, DaveCurtis is now an assistant professor of radiology at the Uniformed Services University of HealtSciences, the military medical school established by Congress in 1972. Dave's work takes him to various hospitals each week, to lecture, research, or treat patients. During the last two years of his active-duty stint which ended in October 1980, Dave was the chief of diagnostic radiology at Walter Reed Army Hospital. Ebie is working at the Smithsonian "and making beautiful "needlework." Sally, 12, is off to Sweden this summer, and Andrew, 11, is sportsminded.

George Owens has been elected a first vice president of the investment banking and brokerage firm of Smith Barney, Harris Upharri and Company Inc. George manages the firm's Federal Street office in Boston. George and his family live in Weston, Mass. j

Another long-lost classmate turns out to be a close neighbor of mine. I was pleasantly surprised a couple of weeks ago to receive a note from Bob Wood, who writes: "I'm starting my fourth year as manager of West Pottsgrove Township (just west of Pottstown, Pa.). I'm also starting my third year with the same 25mill tax rate, so I'm not certain what kind of administrative magic I'm going to have to perform to keep the budget balanced. One of the economy moves is to get rid of the managerial limousine (an abandoned postal jeep); the police, however, are getting a new car, so when I have to ride now maybe I can ride in style. All in all, I rather like working in local government. Most people are cynical enough to expec nothing from their government, so I'm glad to be able to prove them wrong once in a while."

Bob and Mary Lou have three children, names unspecified, and Mary Lou "is anxiously looking forward to next fall when the second boy will start to school full-time. She's even considering finding some part-time work to help her regain her sanity and re-learn what it's like to talk to adults."

That empties this month's mailbag, folks. I'll try to get some more postcards in the mail during March. If you get one, please take a minute or two to respond, and don't forget to tell me who you are!
