John Herrick of Cleveland was recently elected president of the U.S. Squash Racquet Association (U.S.S.R.A.). He is the youngest president ever elected to the 100-year-old organization and the first from Cleveland. John practices law in Cleveland and has been a prime mover in northern Ohio squash.
Although we've already done a lot of reporting on the Sugarbush ski weekend, we can't resist adding the following excerpt from a letter from Alex Summer: "It might be worth mentioning the Tenth Annual D.S.I.S.S.S.B.W. (Dartmouth-Sugarbush Invitational Slalom, Snowshoe, and Scotch Bachelor Weekend) descended on our house in Sugarbush in January. This awful gang, whose membership shifts slightly from year to year, depending upon the patience of certain wives and other extraneous problems, is pictured in the enclosed photograph. Dave Harrison came from Seattle to wow us all with his topless disco techniques, and Charlie Radigan from Virginia to enjoy some great snow and about 3,000 laughs. The stories have gotten better, if not more accurate , over the years." The "enclosed photograph" is reproduced below.
Now if any of you out there have heard enough about the Sugarbush weekend and would like to read about something else, how about helping us fill up this space.
Richard Davidson of Sharon, Mass., also sent in a great set of photos from the Moose Mountain weekend last fall. I am sorry we cannot print them here, because they were in color, but I do thank Dick for sending them. Here is some of Dick's letter about the happenings in the Davidson family: Jody, his daughter, a member of the class of'B2, is engaged and busy planning an August wedding; Arlene will be graduating magna cum laude in May from Stonehill College; Robin has been accepted at Roger Williams College; and Andrew, a high school freshman, started jayvee soccer in the fall and made the varisty team at Sharon High. Dick also reports some good news about him self— he has been promoted from his position as head of institutional services within the trust department to head of trust operations for State Street Bank and will be relocating to downtown Boston, where he hopes to catch up with some fellow classmates working in the Hub. Dick also asked me to mention again the " '60 Haven Directory." He received a small flurry of interest after our mention of it in the December column, but hasn't heard from many of you since. If you have an interest in being part of this project, please contact Dick at 56 Condor Road, Sharon, Mass. 02067 with all the vital information to be included in the directory.
We mentioned Mort Kondracke last month, but we were even more impressed this month to see him interviewing Alexander Haig on Meet the Press recently.
