Almost upon us is the summer hiatus which will deprive you faithful readers of this lachrymose column for two whole months! Now you ask yourself, how on earth will the old Frog fill the void during this period? Since you ask, let me tell you:

Later this month (this being penned in May), I am embarking on a Minnesota Outward Bound expedition out of Ely, Minn., into the wilds of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Quetico Provincial Park five days of canoeing and camping. Minnesota Outward Bound asked me to set up the trip, and among the participants will be Erik Gunderson from La Crosse, Wise., and Dick Spurgin from Chicago. A number of other classmates were invited but had to decline (many are called, but few are chosen).

Later, for a couple of weeks this summer, I plan to bask off the New England shore upon a vi-foot sloop, pigging out (as I'm told the expression goes) on mussels steamed in white wine and dolloped in a mustard-mayonnaise sauce, boiled lobster dripping with butter, littlcnecks on the half shell tinged with lemon juice, cocktail sauce, and horseradish, all washed down with amphorae of Muscadet and Sancerre. Among the likely ports of call will be Menemsha Quissett, Cundy's Harbor, and Hurricane Island (in some less random order), for you geography buffs. S6 much for indulging in the delights of anticipation.

The Chicago Tribune featured a story on Dick Bressler in the April 19 issue. (Dick's progress has been logged in this column quite frequently.) The article was forwarded to me by X'ate Whiteside '20, who noted that the inclusion of three '52s in the January "Give a Rouse" column attested to the strength of our class. N.ate continued by saying that he is the oldest of the 41 Dartmouth alumni living in Hinsdale, 111. Hinsdale could mount an alumni club all its own.

Among the Hinsdale alumni is Jack Foster, who is c.e.o. of Ryerson Steel. In June he will mark 30 years with Ryerson, from his start in the merchandise area, through inside sales, on to the sales manager's position. Jack was one "■ho was invited to join us on the Outward Bound excursion but had to decline because he will be in Hawaii, where he will see John andJudy Grocutt. Jack and Sally have grown-up daughters —Judy, who is married and lives in Milwaukee and who has provided a grandchild, Craig; and Barbara, who is an exercise Physiologist in Andover, Mass. Jack and Sally play tenweir spare time; Jack credits Sally with a better player but says that his greater stamina makes it a contest.

From Milwaukee comes word of Bill and endy Randall. Daughter Becky, Dartmouth 1, is working at Dancer, Fitzgerald and Sam-Fan ad agency whose c.e.o. is Pete McSpad- den). She is working on the General Mills account in the account executive end of the business. Bill was recently in Hanover, where he visited with son Kevin "85 during freshman week in Hanover. He saw Ray Lundquist, whose daughter Erica is at Dartmouth, and Jay and Edie Anderson. Bill spent a great deal of time on behalf of Dartmouth as the president of the Alumni Council up until his term ended last July. Bill put particular emphasis on providing broader alumni representation to the council in order to improve the communications and policy-making between the administration and the classes. The council has expanded to 86 members from 61. employing existing alumni class organizations. When not working for Dartmouth, Bill can be found at the First Bank of Milwaukee, where he is executive vice president of administration. His responsibilities include retail banking, trusts, and administration.

I trust that you will all enjoy a pleasant and fruitful summer. I look forward to being back with you in the fall.
