With an assist from Stan Chittick, who sent

me a set of replies which went to him with checks for class dues, there is some news.

Herb Kaiser writes from his law office in Monticello, Ill., that he "hasn't retired and never expects to until the Lord dictates otherwise." The Kaisers have a granddaughter who is a freshmen at William and Mary. Their only travel in the last year was a short summer jaunt to Seattle and Alaska, where, north of the Arctic Circle, they found the farthest north "Dairy Queen" but no snow, and a banana split costing $3.45. They are planning a European trip this spring or summer.

Wes Blake sent a notice to Robin Robinson all the way from White River Junction, reporting a trip to Chatham, Mass., for all of three days. Back home, they say that visits from children and grandchildren help to keep them young.

A letter from Chick Austin to Stan has some comments aibout our reticence in the treatment of certain eminent members of the class. A little too much to summarize here, so I am sending it along to Robin to see if he can make room for it in the " '24 Hour Notice."

Larry Hewes is succinct: "We went to Hanover Holiday where was everybody?" JimWheaton writes from Fort Myers, Fla., that he is tentatively thinking of the 60th. We hope the decision turns out affirmative. Earl Daum seems more hopeful on the same subject. JimHenretta is definitely counting on the 60th, as are Bob Hayes and Ted Nilsen.

John Woodbridge reports that after 54 years of marriage he and Hazel are still going strong, which in his case includes gardening, golf, and trips with Hazel around the country by car. He also reports a two-year-old greatgranddaughter.

Frank and Emily Granata are another couple who think nothing of driving long distances. They covered 4,200 miles by car last summer, going from Naples, Fla., to Maine and back, with a stop at Hanover. WarrenHollis reports that he is still working five hours a day on his business of raising fourleaf clovers.

Among our ever-faithful widows, Mary Higley reports a lot of traveling and visiting from her Hudson Falls base, as well as a grandson who is pre-med at Dartmouth and the son of her John Higley '51. Betty Miller reports a grandson, Ralph Alexander Miller, as a member of the class of '87. Other widows who have sent notes include Helen Buettner, Lois Hersey, and Alice Burleigh.

SEE YOU ALL ON JUNE 11-13!
