We were delighted to hear from our colleagues on The Dartmouth, Elmer G. "Steve"Stevens, sports editor exemplar, who writes from his home in Brattleboro:

"My two children are married. Robert is building wooden boats in Maine. He lives in Arrowsic, which is next to Bath. Elizabeth has recently moved from Bethesda, Md., to Washington. She resides across the street from the Russian commpound and consequently gets plenty Of police protection! She works for the Bureau of Social Science Research, a private organization which does research for the federal government. I spent Thanksgiving weekend with Robert and Elizabeth and their respective spouses in Maine.

"As to local news, the Socialist mayor of Burlington, Bernard Sanders, is up for re-election in March, and his chances look good. Paris Le Monde did a feature article on him, and he made the Doonesbury comic strip."

Yes, Frank Hartmann does keep extremely busy with his executive duties at the Meadowlands sports and entertainment center in New Jersey, despite the news that (1) he and Margo recently had the satisfying pleasure of traveling to England where they witnessed daughter Margo receiving her doctor of philosophy degree in biochemistry from the University of Sussex; and (2) he was part of the winning team (43-5 to 40.5, so it was a little close) as a member of the American Seniors Golf Team in their encounter with a similar Japanese team. However, not many of the opposition were as tall as Frank!

We have received a report from Hanover that Edward T. Younglove died on December 19,1980, but all other information is lacking. We also report with sorrow the deaths of Robert L.Dunn of Penn Yan, N.Y., and of Robert J.Varney.

Mort and Alese Pechter are the proud grandparents of their first grandchildren twin sons born to Richard '75 and Robin Pechter. Richard will be completing his internal medicine residency in June and going on to a two-year cardiology fellowship at Texas Tech U. Robin, a teacher by profession, is busy running her own school in the house and in her "spare" time is president of the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine Housestaff Auxiliary. As you may have noted from the whoop-de-do program sent by Reunion Chairman Eddie O'Brien, Mort and Alese will be presenting their fascinating sound-artd-slide show of underwater photography at the "Fabulous Fortieth Reunion," June 13—16.

We like to pay our respects each year to those classmates currently serving in significant positions on behalf of the College. This roster is led, of course, by Trustees George Munroe and Bob Field, whose service makes 1943 the only class with double representation on the board. Bud Hall represents us on the Alumni Council, and Frank Hartmann is chairman of the executive committee of the Association of Alumni.

Club presidents are Bob Ott (Fort MyersNaples) and Fritz Geller (Keene). Job develop- ment officers include John Pritchard, New Britain; Paul Parker, Minneapolis-St. Paul; and Connie Young, Omaha. Robert Alesbury is continuing education officer for the Utica Club.

See you on the Green on June 13! Write if you find work, or stop work, or enjoy working.
