Greetings from the Big Apple.
Your response to pleas for news has yielded some success, so allow me to pass on these noteworthy items about fellow '74s.
Christine Lucy Vaughters has received her bachelor of science degree in the physician assistant program from the School of Allied Health Professions of Hahnemann University of Philadelphia. Lucy and her husband, John Hanratty, make their home in Philly. Herb Hopkins says it's good to know it's still okay to be sick in Cream Cheese City.
The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., was busy updating me on a couple of classmates. First, Steve Hagedorn received his M.D. degree from Mayo Medical School on May 19. Steve will continue his medical education with residency training in family medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Rochester, Minn. Also, Steve Sundberg has completed graduate training in orthopedic surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Doc Sundberg has reportedly entered private practice in Minneapolis.
More news from Philadelphia. George Carr has recently been made an associate at the firm of Jacobs/Wyper Architects, where he has been since October 1983. George is currently project architect for the new 650 bed correctional facility for the Philadelphia prisons. After freshman year in the Wigs, George should have this project knocked.
Our own John "Stumpy" Henderson has been elevated from the position of manager to senior manager at the accounting firm of Price Waterhouse, in their Boston office. John has been with PW since 1976 in the tax department, with experience including a comprehensive range of tax services to manufacturing concerns, electronics companies, and financial service organizations. His areas of specialization include international taxation, taxation of inventories, and microcomputer utilization in personal and corporate tax planning applications. As a CPA, John is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, and the MSCPA's State Taxation Committee. Stump looks forward to hearing from all of you in April.
We're also glad to hear of Steve Allison's return to the Boston area. Steve, his wife, Kristin, and their two sons, Ben and Graham, are house hunting while Steve assumes the post of president of J.F. White Properties, a subsidiary of J.F. White Contracting, Newton, Mass. He is involved in commercial and industrial real estate development, ranging from office parks and shopping malls to office towers throughout the East Coast. Best of luck on your new venture.
That about exhausts this month's supply of news. Thanks to all for your contributions. Keep those cards, letters, and notes coming. Till next month.
