Do you ever find yourself repeating a rite in the springtime? Birds do it; elk do it; bears do it, and so do I. This weekend, I am repeating my annual spring trek to Hanover. It s fun to watch the campus deck itself out for Green Key Weekend, and to shake hands and exchange pleasantries with those I haven't seen since last year. 1 also find myself repeating my annual "spring cleaning," emptying out my news drawer for one last message before we rejoin next fall

Ladd Jeffers is living on Long Island ana works as a stockbroker for Neuberger Berman in New York City. His firm sells stocks whole- sale to banks, pension funds, and c°rpora" tions Beyond that, Ladd claims that he has been married for five years (what s your wife's name, Ladd?) and that they have a one-year-old daughter whom he describes as "some- ticket," but for this month her name will remain a

John Robison has been appointed regiona sales manager of Xerox Corporation in Greenwich, Conn. (I bet Hector has hit him up real good) And Rick Read (I've never known a Frederick who liked "Fred") has been appointed assistant vice president claims and litigation management, m the Union Pacific System law department m Omaha (or is it St. Louis?). He will have the responsibility for the Union Pacific and Missouri Pacific railroad activities in that area. Prior to joining the railroad in 1980, Rick was a trial attorney for the Department of Justice in Washington and a general counsel for the Interstate Commerce Commission. I wonder if he runs into Bill Higgins, who also is lawyering for Union Pacific Railroad? i 1.. T

And news travels slowly from London, whence I received a copy of a June 1983 Literary Review article on Mark Zebrowski's publication of the book entitled Deccani Painting. Mark was mentioned in this column two years ago as receiving recognition for his contribution to the understanding of Indian Art. The review states in part: "[He] has performed a service to Islamic Art History by identifying what we can now see to have been a distinctive and brilliant school of painting in its own right that flourished in the 16th and 17th centuries in the Deccan." For those of you who are interested, the cost is $37.50 PDS or about $50 U.S. Where's the Deccan?

George Vincent was elected senior executive vice president of C.P. Hall Company, a manufacturer of specialty industrial chemicals in the Chicago area, and is responsible for all phases of the company's operations. George got his MB.A. from Harvard after graduation and subsequently worked for General Electric and FMC Corporation m various management positions in their chemical operations. He reports that Andrea is still doing a lot of substitute teaching, and that Judd (ten) and David (fourteen) are both doing well. George claims that he still has enough time to race Hobie cats on Lake Michigan m the summer and ski in Colorado during the winter. Ah, the good life!

And in a final "rite to spring, 1 received a birth announcement from Jim Season and wife Randi (I promised I would give you more information). Tyler Welles Season weighed m at nine pounds, 13 ounces on March 2. Let s see, if we give them a three-month breather, 1 am'sure the ritual can be repeated next year.

And what June column would be complete without a closing plug for the Alumni Fund drive. At this early reporting, the class is at an incredible 93 percent of our 1984 dollar goal of $85,000. Let's not fall short! But we need 100 more donors to reach the 50 percent participation level.

Have a good summer!
