So, how are those turkey sandwiches made from your Thanksgiving leftovers? It is hard to belive that it's that time of year already. The football season is over, we have to wait another ten months for tailgates, and that nip in the air is signaling the onset of winter. But, never fear, all of that only means that June and our fifth reunion are just around the corner! By now you have probably received a few items in the mail regarding this sure-to-be memorable event. Do be sure to send in your ideas and suggestions for our weekend. It's going to be a great time if we all get together and work together on it.
In the meantime, lots has been going on in the world of 'B2s. Since we hit the out-for-four-years mark this past June, we are now receiving our first wave of fullfledged M.D.'s. Kurt Hofmann and MarkWilliams both graduated from Thomas
Jefferson University's Medical College in June. Kurt is now well into his surgical residency at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, while Mark began his residency in anesthesiology at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco. A good team in the operating room in a few years maybe?
Dennis Runck received his M.D. from the Univeristy of Minnesota last spring and is currently a resident in radiology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.
Kurt Heim's road to the M.D. will be a bit longer. He is tacking a Ph.D. onto his medical degree. Kurt is at Georgetown Med., enrolled in the physiology joint degree program.
Steve Whiteley gave us this news on Kurt and added that he and his wife, Sharon, work for Shelby Fine Arts. They operate three of the 31 galleries nationwide for Shelby. Steve and Sharon just moved from Albuquerque, N.M., to Washington, D.C., to open a new gallery (Old Town Alexandria). Not to let anything fall through the cracks, Steve is finishing his geology master's at the University of New Mexico in the midst of all of this activity.
Matt Hoffman wrote that he successfully completed his first year at Wharton and then spent the summer working for a real estate developer in Boston before heading back to finish up his business degree. Matt also filled us in on Marie Connally, who finished her M.B.A. program at the University of Rochester and celebrated by visiting Audrey Freudberg, who is in grad school at UCLA. Matt also added that Dave Andryc and Rich Papert lived through their first year at Harvard B School (or should we say that Harvard lived through their first year of B-school?)
Notes from a fit further afield: DebbieRollins is working at the Boulder Public Library and is enjoying the mountains and sky of Colorado during her time off. Sarah Riddle received her M.S.W. in southern California and is now fully ensconsed in the world of social work in Illinois. Jim Morrison and his wife, Sally, have returned to Los Angeles from San Francisco Jim was promoted to real estate manager for Metropolitan Life. Also recently promoted, Laura Murray has been named a consulting manager in Arthur Andersen's New York office. JohnConley keeps busy alternating between his job as a technical consultant at AT&T, his part-time M.B.A. program at New York University, and his 17-month-old son, Joey.
Thus is the news of '82s. Good luck with all of the holiday preparations see you in December. Em.
