Van and Dorothy Curll's three daughters and families will be converging on the Newporter Inn, Newport Beach, Calif., on April 5 to host a shindig in celebration of their 50th anniversary. Van wrote that Jack and Cornie Herpel called from Laguna Beach, Calif., several weeks ago, and they enjoyed a very pleasant lunch and visit with them.

Munny Raymond moved in January from Kansas City to Estes Park, Colo., where.his daughter, Carol, her husband, John Ritschard, and their five children live. Munny used to be a commercial livestock feeder 30 miles from Kansas City and worked farmers' hours on his 600- acre farm stocked with 400 steers, 100 sheep, and 60 gilts.

Stretch Davis, a retired Lehigh University professor, says, "Finally reached 80. Still feel young. Doing some writing. Anxiously await spring when I can get to my garden mostly flowers."

Wendell MacEachran died December 28 in Manitowoc, Wis. For years Mac was an active member of our '28 executive committee, and he and Esther attended many reunions, including our 55th. He had battled a stroke and other ailments but remained active in his many businesses to the end.

Charley and Mary Proctor report a wonderful visit at daughter Nancy's home in Boulder, Colo., and later attended the Sun Valley 50th anniversary party at the end of January.

John and Evelyn Scott are spending their eighth winter in Boca Grande, Ha., 40 miles south of Sarasota, playing golf most days.

We are sorry to report that Allene Prosser lost her battle against cancer. She died February 1 at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. Active in community affairs, Allene most recently was an overseer at both Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, and Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. All her many friends join in extending our sympathy to Curly, who as most '28ers know, spends much of his time working for the class of 1928. More than 100 people, including the Sensenigs,Tidds, Flanderses, Larry Kenney, and Larry Martin attended the memorial service in the beautiful chapel at the Cardigan Mountain School.

A note from Peter Thompson '55 brought more sad news. His stepmother, Dor Thompson, Rupe's widow, died February 6. She had lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Potomac, Md., for the last nine years. Dor got to know many '28s when she and Rupe attended reunions and Class Officers Weekends. Our sympathy goes out to her family, and also to Wayne and Jean Van Orman on the death of their grandson, Matthew Van Orman, a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire, who died January 25 of injuries sustained in a car accident.

On my birthday card to Ed Lilley, I asked how it felt to be 1928's oldest stockbroker. He replied he is happy, he has his good health, and works every day for Burgess and Leith, Inc., 208 Main Street, Milford, Mass. He has been a broker in his hometown since 1932! Ed told me that his wife, Dorothy, died November 11, 1984, of a heart attack. She had never been sick a day in her life until four days before her death, when she went to a hospital with a pain in her chest. Ed has a daughter in California, a son in Delaware, "plus grandchildren and now greatgrandchildren coming up like mushrooms."
