Great news from Cleveland, Ohio. No rivers have caught on fire lately, and JohnLiebert, former football star for the Big Green, is making his mark in the world of high tech. John recently joined Manufacturing Decision Support Systems as a vice president. His initial responsibilities will be in national marketing for this corporation which provides application software for manufacturers. John left a position as executive vice president of Datacorp Business Systems where he had complete marketing and sales responsibility. He began his career in software with IBM where he worked for eight years in the Cleveland branch while receiving a total of eight 100-percent club awards for meeting sales quotas. John and his wife and children currently reside in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Congratulations are also due to JohnWoodhouse. A news release from the Department of the Navy indicates that he was recently awarded a Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He received the decoration for meritorious service as Public Information Officer for the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., from June 1983 to July 1985. The news release states that "Woodhouse proved to be an extraordinary spokesman for the Department of Defense at the national level in all matters involving navy and United States defense policy issues related to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and its member nations. ... He also provided significant assistance to Department of Defense public affair efforts related to three of the events dominating world attention during his tenure: the Soviet shoot-down of Korean Air Lines Flight 007, the terrorist bombing of U.S. forces in Beirut, Lebanon, and the joint rescue operation in Grenada."

In a brief note on the back of his class dues form, John Jenkins reports that he is now the father of two sons. Michael was born on August 14, 1984 (class of 2006). His son Andrew was born on November 24, 1985 (class of 2007).

Bill Partlan was director of the play Stitchers and Starlight Talkers, which was part of the Winterfest 6, a festival at the Yale Repertory Theater during this past winter.

A recent note attached to the class dues indicates that Johann Tomasson is residing in Iceland. In case anyone wants to reach him, his current address is Espigerdi #20, Reykjavik, Iceland. Johann, we hope that all is well in your native country.

Mike Keller writes from Salt Lake City, Utah, that he and his wife, Fay (Skidmore '74), had their second child, Nathanial Warren, in January 1985. "He is long and lean like his dad and very active." First child Heidi is five-and-a-half years old. Mike is a natural resources attorney, and Fay is a former librarian who now teaches tennis part-time.

Finally, I recently received the happy news that Brooks Cutright has returned to the Boston area. He is now residing in Whalen (new address: 8 Morse Road, Whalen, MA 01778) after having lived the past five years in Orlando, Fla. Brooks has joined the public accounting firm of Tonneson, Kennedy, and Lehan as a management consultant. It is the largest independent consulting firm in Massachusetts. After graduation from the Tuck School, Brooks spent six years with General Mills. He and his wife, Cathy, have two children, Brooks Jr. (he turned five last February) and Molly, who is almost two. Brooks, welcome back.

That's all for this month. Please remember the Alumni Fund, and I'll be back next month.
