Greetings. This month's ramblings, rumblings, and grumblings are highlighted by tasty tidbits gleamed from glitzy gossip from gregarious Dave "YouCan't Hide Those Roving Eyes" Ferguson. The Fergman related that he is snugly settled in the geothermal depths of the Twin Cities where he is a partner in a marketing promotion firm. Dave travels to the East Coast occasionally, calling on clients when he is not at home in Minnetonka, Minn, (which for those of you not in the know is Native American for "Small Truck"). As usual, Fergie was pretty closemouthed about his personal status (quiet, Josh), but he did mention something about having a girlfriend.
Dave reported that John "You Can't Always Get What You Need, But If YouPersevere They Might Let You In Eventually" Haffenreffer is still banking away down yonder in St. Louis. Although Madness is apparently quite domesticated, he still has been known to quaff a few 'Gansett Green Deaths once in a while - just goes to show you, you can take the Rhode Island out of the boy, but you can't ... Anyway, everything's okay with John and his wife, who have a couple of kids (I think). I never did get to thank John for setting me up with that lovely redhead at his wedding; my only concern was why she had four legs and preferred Milkbones to caviar.
Fergie also reports that Rob Swenson's Mesaba Airlines is doing well on feeder routes in the Dakotas and rural Minnesota (as opposed to urban Minnesota, which is about as oxymoronic as "government intelligence"). Rob is married and has a least one child (and one wife, I presume). He and Dave ran into each other at a boat show in Minneapolis this winter. Hope they will both make it to the igloo and snowshoe exhibition here in Miami this summer, put on by the same ingenious company that did the boat show in Minneapolis.
Enough of this tomfoolery. Obviously, I am overcome at the thought of being barely more than a year away from the end of my tenure which terminates at our reunion next year. Please make the last few columns worthwhile by writing, and don't forget the Alumni Fund. Aloha.
