Born July 17, 1898, Gob DesMarais outranks in seniority all other 1926 classmates, and he was delighted to have his happy 89th birthday wish from the class at his Rock Hill, S.C., home where he and Marion are enjoying retirement.

1926 made head agent George Scott's day by exceeding its Alumni Fund goal and winning yet another Green Derby. With his usual modesty George gives credit to his team for reminding all of us of the importance of the fund for Dartmouth.

Dick Eberhart read a poem written by him for the occasion at the inauguration of president James O. Freedman. Then as is his usual custom he and Betty spent July and August on the Maine coast at their Undercliff, Cape Rosier, Harborside summer place.

For 50 years Mai Merrill has been involved in the operation of Beachmere resort in Ogunquit, Me. His and Ann's daughter Louesa, who is now manager, planned a big bash in August for the event (tents, bands, dancing) which was most enjoyable for all.

In answer to a class birthday greeting JimWooster said that he and Anne get the latest news on Dartmouth from their grandson Charles '89. They are enjoying good health in retirement at Upper Montclair, N.J.

Bill Pitney, Aiken, S.C., finds 1987 a busy year: he has finished his second novel; he and Rose attended a grandson's wedding in Ridgefield, Conn., in May; in August they vacationed at Conistee Falls, N.C.; and in September went to a granddaughter's wedding via a ski-lift at Sugar- bush, Vt.

Hugh (Dinty) Moore, Delray Beach, Fla., reminds us that he transferred from University of Wisconsin during our sophomore year, and hence did not become as widely acquainted as most '26ers.

After graduation he spent ten years in Detroit and then 28 years in Chicago in advertising and publicity. He and his wife Margaret have enjoyed life in Florida during 23 retirement years.

Myrtle Tomlinson, Englewood, Fla., one of the "regulars" at the '26 summer minireunions, missed out this year due to prior travel plans that took her to Connecticut and Maine.
