From the sunny shores of Savannah, Ga., to the historic hamlet of Ithan-Villanova, Pa., to carefree Cali, Columbia, welcome to Life Styles of the Relatively Unknown, but Increasingly Upwardly Mobile.

We begin our journey in beautiful, historic Savannah, where your secretary makes his humble home. This summer, all roads seemed to lead to steamy Savannah. I don't know why.

Chris Olsen '86, now a law student at the beautiful, historic University of Virginia founded by the brilliant Thomas Jefferson, spent the summer in Savannah where he clerked for Hunter, Maclean, Exley & Dunn, one of the finest law firms to be found anywhere. Chris was the salvation of a sagging Softball team and earned the gratitude of all concerned. Chris grew up in the nearby beautiful, historic Charleston, S.C. His father is Norman Olsen '56.

August found a fit and tan John Beyer in the Savannah International Airport, along with his lovely bride, Tracy Bennett Beyer '81. One would never have guessed that the youthful Tracy was the mother of a fine, four-month-old baby boy, left safely at home in Seattle.

John, ever the energetic entrepreneur, already had one manufacturing plant in Seattle and had recently snapped up another in Cincinnati. The two, terrific, buying Beyers had taken a needed respite from their capitalistic conquests with a fabulous vacation on Hilton Head.

Carol Burns Duke and young husband Tom Duke '81 visited Savannah in early September. After Tom's graduation from Rutgers Law School, the two journeyed to beautiful, historic Great Britain and toured the countryside by motor car for three weeks.

Upon their return to the States, the two barristers in love toured the country by car, wending their way to San Francisco where they will live and lawyer, each with a private firm.

Kate and Tom Chapin have made a happy home in beautiful, historic Ithan-Villanova, Pa. They are the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Emily. Emily is a bouncy bundle of joy.

Marcus Keep wrote from beautiful, historic Cali, Columbia, where he was enjoying the climate, the coffee, and Salsa. He is with a trauma team there on a senior rotation from the Medical University of South Carolina. Why Cali? Because Cali is a cockpit of violence, with more deaths per capita than Beirut. I don't know why.

Donal Clare O'Brien III recently married Carolyn Kay Hartwell in beautiful, historic Nantucket, Mass. The dashing Donal received an M.B.A. from New York University and is a leasing agent in West Orange, N.J., for the Trammel Crow Company, real estate developers.

Thus concludes another exciting edition of "Lifestyles." Tune in next time, or the upwardly mobile will pass you by.
