To those who thought "aberrations" blossomed only on the window sills of the Oval Office, please squash the notion. In April these '22 notes had a fully blown "aberration" all their own. With typical verbosity, the first day of our 65th Reunion, June 12, was described. The class reception on that Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Drake Room was listed, but nary a word about dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the same place. But no Dartmouth class has ever suffered a hunger strike, and 1922 is not about to start one.
Realistically, however, '22 does not plan to congregate for breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings, June 13 and 14. Older classes yes, there are a few have warned us that people of our vintage have confirmed preferences on breakfast. We do not unanimously agree on when to eat breakfast (earlier, later, never); what to have (hot water, a croissant, griddle cakes, maple syrup, and sausage); or with whom (solo, duet, full chorus). But breakfast, of course, will be optionally available nearby.
Our first complete assembly on Saturday morning, June 13, will be the class meeting at 9:30 in Room 116, Hanover Inn. Wives and all members of the Twoter clan are welcome. After the meeting, classmate Rev. Dick Beyer will conduct our 1922 Memorial Service, also in Room 116.
All will please say "cheese" for the class picture at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Hanover Inn.
Lunch will be at 12:15 in the new Berry Sports Complex, adjacent to the gym.
Saturday afternoon, do as you please, talk, listen, sit, walk, or nap, unless the Tuck School Investiture at 3:00 or the Med School Class Day at 4:00 attracts you.
Saturday evening '22 will assemble at 6:00 in the Hovey Grill, Thayer Hall. DINNER WILL FOLLOW THERE AT 6:30. We will have an excellent speaker from the faculty.
Sunday morning, June 14, all Twoters, including wives and other family members, will gather at 8:45 in front of Webster Hall for the Commencement Procession. Our class will have an honored place in the march to the nearby reserved seats on the lawn of Baker Library. Wear your sun hat. If it rains, the exercises will be held in Thompson Arena.
Twenty-two will proudly have some grandchildren receiving honors and degrees at Commencement.
After Commencement, '22 will have a farewell luncheon for those who wish it. It will be at 1:00 p.m. in Room 116, the Inn.
And, even now in May, it is not too late if you decide to come back and join your class just once more in Hanover. You will be most cordially welcomed.
