How wonderful it was to return to Hanover in May and the land of nostalgia. Although I didn't see any members of our class in Hanover, I ran into a fun group from '43, including Frederick Lent, Thomas Gerber, Robert Clarke, Eddie O'Brien, Fred Stockwell, Donald Taylor, and George Graham, and some boisterous '73s, including Thad and Suzanne King, Peter Broberg and David Bailey.

I also had the pleasure of being placed at a table with Buddy Teevens '79, our new head football coach. Buddy is delightfully humble, attractive and positive. A winning season is certain. Jackie Hullah, head coach of women's basketball, was also extremely impressive. Jackie is aggressive, enthusiastic, and beautiful. It is obviously the right combination because her team is all-Ivy.

Rob Christie called to report on the centennial anniversary of Casque & Gauntlet, which was held in Hanover in June. Rob has been a retail stockbroker at Dean Witter in Houston, Tex., since 1981. Rob is a native of Hanover and obtained his master's degree from the business school of the University of Virginia.

Also present at the C & G affair were other members of our class, including TomWatkin, who is the publisher of a newspaper called Behind the Times in West Corinth, Vt. The publication is out of Bradford, Vt., with a circulation of approximately 5,000.

Thomas Ames, also present, is a commercial photographer who just opened a studio in Lebanon, N.H. He and his wife Margaritte have just had their first child, Megan. Margaritte will teach school when she returns to work.

John Sheldon and his wife, Lisa, are about to have their third child. They also have two sons, Aaron, who is five and a half, and Peter, who is two and a half. John is a commercial photographer in Hartford, Vt.

Peter Blodgett, who is a librarian in Thetford, Vt., enjoyed the celebration, as did Thurlow E. Tibbs. Thurlow, who runs an Afro-American art gallery in Washington, D.C., was recently featured in the AlumniMagazine.

Stephen Sungberg is an orthopedic surgeon in Edina, Minn. Steve and his wife, Ann, have been in Australia for the past year; where Steve has been doing pediatric orthopedics. (Steve's sister Ann Sundberg is a freshman at Dartmouth this year.)

John Bowman also attended the C & G affair. John and his wife, Chantal, have a child 15 months old named Madeleine. They live in Beacon Hill, where John is a commercial property developer and working on affordable housing developments. After Dartmouth John concentrated in urban planning at the Kennedy School and the Harvard Business School. He also studied urban development projects in Nigeria.

Another C & G member present was BillHanson, who is a patent attorney and married to Wendy. They have two children, Ashley and Will. (You may recall Hanson was a great shotputter at Dartmouth.) Hanson attended the beautiful W & L Law School. He is now concentrating on trademark litigation and is presently involved in litigation between Fruit of the Loom and Hanes. Bill claims that he "delivers a lot of briefs."

Not in attendance were Nat Weeks and Billy Scott, who is a lawyer with the State Securities Commission in Houston, Tex. Nat is currently a marketing director at the Alexander Dawson School, Lafayette, Colo. His wife, Silence, has a part-time scripture toy business. They have two boys, Joby, 6, and Calec, 4. They still have a birch-bark canoe that Nat received from a recent Dartmouth graduate's grandmother. Nat still plays squash and recently won a squash tournament in Denver, Colo. The Weekses reside in Englewood, Colo.

Tim Baker writes from Mast Landing, Freeport, Maine. Tim is controller of New England Cablevision, Inc., which operates cable TV systems in Southern Maine, New Hampshire, and Eastern Massachusetts. Tim was previously with the parent company, Diversified Communications, as an accounting systems analyst for two and one-half years. He is currently working on the completion of an eight-foot fiberglass sailing dinghy. He is also designing a summer cottage on Bustins Island in Casco Bay off the coast of Freeport. Tim's wife, Lynn, is employed at L.L. Bean's as a product quality coordinator.

Sailing in Maine sounds great, especially when it is 99 degrees here and I'm off to the Fulton County Jail to meet my new client!
