After the fireworks and dancing on Lake Washington Chris Simpson and new husband Bruce Brent floated serenely off into the starlight over the lake, on their way to a grand honeymoon Down Under complete with crocodiles, Foster's, and maybe even Australian Rules football. Leaving Scott Brown and Mary Kendall to contemplate their forthcoming celebration; leaving Kathy Leggat to explore with others the beautiful San Juan Islands; and leaving Steve Thompson to wonder about possible positions with the Seattle vice squad and future Moosilauke weekends. A beer for your thoughts, Deac? From all reports, the wedding was a smashing success; great fun for all involved! Chris and Brent will return to the San Francisco area and Chris will continue her work with IBM.
I recently heard that Annie McLaneCuster and her husband Brad had their first child. Zachary Race, at the end of july. Both Annie and Brad are lawyers—for rival firms, of course —in Concord, N.H.
I also heard from impeccable, but unidentified sources that Anne Priester was happily teaching art history at Princeton while finishing her Ph.D. at same institution within the next year or so. The big question is, though, what do art historians know about beekeeping? Perhaps Anne would like to comment (actually I would enjoy hearing from you).
An article in the Plymouth, Mass., newspaper indicated that Scott Axford had received his Master of Divinity degree from the Harvard Divinity School. Scott was ordained to the Christian ministry by the First Parish Church in Plymouth and also received his ministerial standing with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Churches.
As you can see by my new address, I have been transferred to a new job, probably for the next three years, based in Ankara, Turkey. The country, itself, is a fascinating place, with friendly people, great scenery, tremendous archaeological sites, wide open Mediterranean beaches, great geological potential as far as my job is concerned, and the most horrid driving practices that I've ever seen! I do hope that some of you may come over and visit, but even more important, for the time being, I need a concerted effort from all of you to let me know what's going on at home. Please write, phone, or FAX any good rumors, slanderous tales, and maybe some real facts thrown in. I'll do my best to distort them. Write down these numbers: tel. 90-4-1684841/2; FAX 90-41684843.
