A note from Donald Goss '53 said in September that Clarence Goss had had a rough summer with hospital admissions because of a couple of heart attacks, serious pneumonia, and congestive failure. Don said "he's tough" and survived. Chet Bixby says that he and Barb are holding on about the same, and regrets that because of Barbara's health they will not be able to get up to Hanover for the reunion in June. Cap Palmer says that the earthquake did not hurt them except to shake a few dishes and produce a crack in the cement. Carl Gray says he is looking forward to June and I bet he is having a grand time with all the snow we have had this winter. Bunny Metzel is back from a trip through Poland and recommends a visit. By the time you read this she should be head and heels into helping Charlie Z. in preparations for the 65th.
A long letter from Bud Freeman about the two students on scholarship from the '23 class. Both are doing very well scholastically. Johannes Von Moltke '89 spent one term in Granada as part of the Language Study Abroad program. We believe he intends to return to Germany and to get into government service. He also was named a Rufus Choate scholar. The other '23 recipient, Kathleen Quimby '89, has had an A-academic average and was named to the second honors group. Both will continue this year to receive our class assistance. Mike May and his wife spent the Christmas holidays in Amherst, N.H. Their grandson, Spence Fitzgibbons, is a Tuck '85.
Just a line to say I'm living, That I'm not among the dead, That I'm getting more forgetful And more mixed up in my head. For sometimes I can't remember When at foot of stair, If I must go up for something Or I've just come down from there.
