Martha Burroughs died January 20 at her home in Manchester, N.H., after a long illness. Her marriage to Bob in 1965 gave the couple more than 20 years of happiness. They almost never missed a reunion or other parties with 1921. During earlier years they welcomed Dartmouth friends to picnics at their Canterbury farm. We shall miss the friendly and pleasant Martha as will her remaining friends she had at Hartridge School and at Vassar College. We extend our sympathy to her sister, her children, and to Bob.

Ralph Pendleton, who has become adept with his motorized wheelchair, wrote a letter from which I quote the first paragraph:

"Dear friends and classmates. First of all, I wish to thank you for remembering me with your 1987 Christmas messages. They were reviewed several times and brought back so many happy memories. Frankly, I've had to abandon my former annual practice of sending you wonderful people a brief resume of activities during the past year, but I didn't feel up to it these past few years."
