Greetings. First things first. Every five years we must have class elections so I am seeking nominations of my classmates for president, treasurer, secretary, and
alumni councilor. These are important class offices and I encourage any of you to consider them. Please send any and all names to my attention and I will pass them on to the nominating committee appointed through Wayne Davis. New officers will commence their responsibilities after the reunion in June.
Now for the news. Richard Smith, who just published his first novel, recently joined the Philadelphia law firm of Miller, Marvin, Dunham, Doering and Schreiber. I can see Richard's next novel now: "PA Law."
As the first snow hits Boston, I am envious of Phil Maloney who has taken his orthopedic medical practice from Nevada to North Conway, N.H., where he is a partner in a clinic. Phil and Sue have two daughters, Molly and Brandy, and a one-year-old son, Timothy Ryan.
Scott Anderson continues his winning ways as head coach of the Harvard University varsity lacrosse team. I recently saw Scott at the Dartmouth-Harvard hockey game where he gave me a sense of what he was expecting for the upcoming season. Harvard should have a good team under Scott's direction.
Sam Livermore just sent word that his family has moved. Their new address is Box 401, 2 Ames Avenue, Ross, CA 94957. Sam, good luck in your new home. Tom Hotaling is currently an architect with the Boston firm of CBT/Interiors. Tom specializes in facilities planning, programming and analysis, and interior architecture and design. John Winer is practicing law in the Burlington, Vt., area and is currently serving on the Dartmouth Alumni Council.
Bill Kellogg, my co-captain on the tennis team, is happily ensconced in Lajolla, Calif., where he is manager of the Lajolla Beach and Tennis Club. Bill is good enough to host the Dartmouth tennis team every spring. Bill Mayer is making his mark as one of the up-and-coming attorneys in Boston. Bill is with Goodwin, Proctor and Hoar.
And finally, Bob Glovsky is currently president of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Eastern Massachusetts. Glover has been energetic and imaginative in hosting numerous functions during the course of the year. His is generally considered to be one of the best presidents in the history of the organization.
That's it for now. Please send along any nominations or news. Bob Barr and Brad Little continue to do a great job as reunion co-chairmen.
Hope to see all of you in June.
