News came in from four different sources of our class celebrity and hero: Reggie Williams! Though the Cincinnati Bengals did not take home the Super Bowl XXIII trophy, none of us will forget the thrill of watching our own Reggie Williams go for it. Congratulations on a job well done, Reggie. You had all of us on your side.

Thank goodness for Christmas cards! Between Sara Hunter's supply and my own, I have come up with some family updates for the column. Remember when one is desperate for news, there is no such things as private communication!

In September, in Annisquam, Mass., JulieMiner was married to John Caldwell. John is a "big deal maker" with Spaulding and Sty's, in Boston, and Julie continues her private architecture practice. They have recently purchased a house in Weston, Mass., which Julie is redesigning.

When considering the effects of coeducation at Dartmouth, one ought to examine the following couples from our class. Talk about Green blood! John and Julia Shepherd have two small girls (Eliza and Justine); Hope and King Poor have three stunning girls named Meakin, Gwennie, and Priscilla; Jack and Cathy Joyce Brennan sent Sara a wonderful Halloween picture of their two, Will and Kara; Jim andMartha Johnson Beattie just added baby Sarah to their family, which already includes Sam and Nell (who was just new at the last reunion.) And, as previously mentioned, Tom and Adrienne Alexander Ruegger have three handsome sons, Nathan, Luke, and Cody. (Are there other dual '76 offspring?) Other family news includes the following classmates: Ted Scheu and his wife, Robin, have a two-year-old cutie named Jamie and are expecting another. Finally, from the castles of England came a card from AnnFritz Hackett, her husband Lance, and their two children, Conor and Kelly.

News from the legal front just in: L.Nelson Hall is a new shareholder (the equivalent to "partner" in a partnership) in the Corpus Christi law firm of Kieberg and Head. After Dartmouth, Nelson attended the St. Mary's University Law School. I have also learned indirectly that CareyHeckman is now the general counsel for Exelan, a computer networking firm in Silicon Valley.

Many thanks to Chris Davis, who sent me lots of interesting news. Chris, his wife, Carol, and their two sons, Gregory 7, and Colin 3, are living in Wakefield, Mass., where Carol is a professional dog trainer, and Chris commutes to the Boston law firm of Goodwin, Proctor, and Hoar. Chris has been practicing environmental law for seven years and was recently made a partner in his firm. Last summer, Chris ana a colleague won a major environmental case after what may have been the first trial under the federal Superfund statute. He also recently cochaired an ABA environmental law conference held in Los Angeles. Last Thanksgiving Chris and Carol attended the wedding of Paul Stockton in Washington, D.C. Paul has been national security advisor to Senator Moynihan for a couple of years. Other classmates at the wedding were Myron Allen (a professor of mathematics at U. of Wyoming), Mike Aylward (another Boston lawyer), Mike Choukas (a "highpriced" management consultant), and Jamie Angell (a "soon-to-be-famous" actor.)

I have just received the distressing news of the death of our classmate Sandra Marie Bernal. Apparently Sandra died June 6, 1986, but the Alumni Records Office has just now received the news. On behalf of our class, I would like to extend belated sympathies to Sandra's family and friends.
