As another deadline approaches and I have no news, I go to an old standby and call Jon "Swede" Swenson. Swede is still living in Seattle and working for Swenson Imports where he is in charge of marketing. What Swenson imports is sweaters from Dale of Norway, Joseph Seibel Sandals, and Yaya Wonderful shoes (no, I'm not making this up). In his spare time, Swede does a little white-water rafting down Hell's Canyon on the Snake River and is editing a cookbook. The cookbook has nothing to do with the Muppets' Swedish Chef but is the work of a local lady, Suzy Reynolds. Swede will do the graphic design and has been personally testing the recipes. So keep an eye out for Simply Wonderful Cooking with Ease and Elegance.
It is election eve in Derry, N.H., as I anxiously await for the polls to open with dawn's first light. My deadline forces me to mail this before the votes are tallied and my bid for school board is certified as a success or failure. But that's good because it will give me something .about which to write next time. If you don't want to see the glaring gap between '68 and '70 in the future, do your part and slip me a little news.
