A nice note from Ben Edmonds includes an article and picture of Bill Seidman, who is chairman of the F.D.I.C. Bill can close more banks in a day than Willie Sutton could tackle in a lifetime.

Shirley and I bumped into Hal Lindley changing planes in Atlanta. From the sound of Treasurer Hal's itinerary, perhaps we should check the books more often than once a year. Speaking of which, make sure your class dues are in, since it is a very important source of revenue for the DAM and class projects.

Harry Townshend sent a welcome letter. He has been buzzing through the town of Brooklyn looking for our house in the "estate" section. I have directed him back to the "downtown" area, so he should have no problem in finding us in the future. Harry and his wife, Debbie, were kind enough to include us at a party at their retreat in Pomfret, Conn.

The Townshends are expecting the FredStockwells and the Bob Limings at their ranch in Montana this summer. A full report, plus pictures on horseback, has been promised, so that should take care of my October column.

Fred Stockwell (chief of the '43 tribe) wins our great-grandfather award hands down, with a double entry. I hope any other qualifiers weren't too shy to admit they share a bed with a great-grandmother.

I was at Mass General Hospital for my SO,OOO-mile check up recently, and was fortunate enough to have a chat with GlennBehringer, M.D. Glenn is edging toward retirement and plans to be at the mini-reunion this fall. Incidentally, Glenn and I married classmates from Skidmore do we get an award for that?

At Class Officers Weekend we were all delighted that our own Edward A. O'Brien was elected Newsletter Editor of the Year! No one ever deserved an award more than Eddie O, and I hope he'll share his citation in a forthcoming newsletter. No one did more than Eddie O to bring our class together after WW II.

While we were in Florida in March, we had a fun visit from Dick and Jane Kimmel at our new secret spot. Dick reports that John and Stacey Koslowski spent a couple of days with them in Marco Island and Tedand Gloria Driscoll also checked in. John is following the sun by playing golf up the coast, and Ted is following his ponies on the same route.

We made two trips to Marco Island to see Matt and Marie Kane. It was evident that Matt was slipping fast and it came as a blessing when he died March 31. The College and his class have lost a loyal booster, and I have lost a friend.
