"They have trouble making decisions. They would rather hike in the Himalayas than climb a corporate ladder. They have few heroes, no anthems, no style to call their own. They crave entertainment, but their attention span is as short as one zap of a TV dial."
Clearly, the magazine forgot to check in with the class of 1987. We've got heroes! How about Larry "Bud" Mellman? And anthems? One need not look further than "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees. As for style, I think the "Morning After Initiation Fraternity Mohawk" haircut pretty much says it all.
Jordana Bloom is truly on the cutting edge in Westport, Conn., where she works at Lick Your Chops, an all-natural pet food store. The shop caters to pet owners who are willing to spend a bit more to ensure the purity and quality of the food their pets eat. In fact, with selections including whole wheat biscuits with carob and New Zealand mutton with rice, some of the animals eat better than their masters! This is all serious business to Jordana, who observes, "It's easy to dismiss as frivolous, but it's not. This is a mission."
Speaking of being on a mission, this fall marks the beginning of academic journeys for some of our classmates. Tim Parker has completed his internship at the Bank of New York, and he has started classes at the Wharton School of Business. Dan Connell has begun three years of law school at NYU, where Crystal Crawford is heading into her final year. New York City seems a strange place to study law since no one there obeys it. ..
