Cocktail chatter and enchanting advertising glamourize the concept of conspicuous consumption in America. Constant, quiet contributors to deserving causes stay off the front page. For example, the classmates named below have given annually to the Dartmouth Alumni Fund over our years (1918-90), which included four wars, depressions and inflations, tax burdens, orthopedic and ophthalmic repairs and replacements, root canals and double dentures, increasing tuition, etc.—you name it, we've had it.

Honors for 65 or more years: Howie Almon, Ray At wood, Gray Bates, ReganBrown, Haskell Cohn, Carroll Dwight,Hal Fraser, Killy Kilmarx, Dick Litchfield, and Len Morrissey. For 60 or more years: Mai Clarke, Warren Daniell, JackDodd, Rex Malmquist, Herm Oliver, JoePerkins, Walt Sands, and Spenny Smith.

Sincere gratitude also goes to the ladies of 1922, who continue to commemorate what Dartmouth meant to their husbands. Did someone mention traditional Dartmouth Alumni loyalty? Include among your Christmas cards this delightful message sent two years ago by our oldest classmate, Rev. Richard F. Beyer:

As I grow older I sure find Life's dull, if you can't change your mind.

My Christmas cards I said would stop, But "resolutions" go "kerflop" Yep, when a guy hits 93 He's grateful, grateful as can be, And so he's bound to celebrate Thanksgiving, Though a wee bit late, 'Mong all the gifts that he may get The best are folks he can't forgetMay Christmas bring that joyous glow, Ana God's own peace your Life o'er flow.

Happy New Year. Tie a ribbon some-where as a reminder to pay class dues.
