The last time we checked in with Mark Vita, he was toiling away in a graduatelevel computer science program. Happily, Mark has earned his master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and has moved into the corporate world. He and his wife, Joanne, now live in Ormond Beach, Fla., where Mark is a software engineer for GE's Simulation and Control Systems department in Daytona Beach.
Sue Conroy is leaving her position as director's assistant at the Maine Children's Cancer Program in Portland, a position she held for nearly three years. Sue is hoping to return to Calcutta, India, to work in the Home for the Dying and the children's orphanage there. You may recall that Sue worked closely with Mother Teresa in Calcutta during tier undergraduate years. Sue isn't sure what will come after her India trip, but she figures she'll cross that bridge when she comes to it.
Sue also reports that Craig Denekas worked at a law firm in Portland during the summer before returning to Ann Arbor, Mich., for his last year at the University of Michigan's law school.
Meanwhile, Karen Hill married her high school sweetheart, Michael Bishop, earlier this year. They are living in Atlanta, where Karen works on "CNN Headline News" broadcasts and Michael practices law.
One of my best New York correspondents, Nancy Lomazzo, has left her paralegal job in the Big Apple to attend law school at the University of Chicago. For some reason, she didn't check with me to see if that was all right! I'll have to count on some of the other umpteen New York '87s to keep me informed. In the meantime, I hope Nancy continues to send me good stories from her new home city.
I have heard of more wedding engagements, and, much to my dismay, I'm not involved in any of them. Nevertheless, stay tuned for the scoop when the weddings actually take place.
