President Freedman announced late in 1989 that John Rosenwald made one of the largest single donations ever to the College. Of the $4.5 million gift, $1 million was designated for the Tuck School's capital campaign and the balance was earmarked to fund a laboratory in the new chemistry building, now in the planning stages. In commenting on Rosie's generosity, President Freedman focused attention on the Trustees' priorities during the 1990s toward emphasis on the academic needs of the College. John's sustained financial commitment to the College has been no secret to our class. This latest gift follows the $1.25 million professorship established by Pat and John less than four years ago when Rosie stepped onto the Board of Trustees.

Last October Ken Roman made a jump from his position as CEO of Ogilvy Group, the big advertising agency which had been acquired several months earlier by U.K.- based WPP Group. After 26 years with Ogilvy, Ken moved to one of its largest clients, American Express, to become executive vice president for corporate affairs and communications. He will be deeply involved there in international trade, government relations, and cultural affairs. Some of Ken's outside activities have been: member of the Services Policy Advisory Committee of the U.S. Trade Representative, The New York City Partnership, member of boards of overseers and managers of Memorial Sloan Kettering, and the board of managers and executive committee of the New York Botanical Garden. Seems like a pretty active profile of Ken at a time when many of his classmates are either already cooling it in retirement or giving it heavy contemplation.

Doc Dey, president of Choate-Rosemary Hall, was named recently as a recipient of the Eleanor Collier Award by CASE District I.

Read in a theater periodical that BuckHenry played a leading role in Marlane Meyer's play, Kingfish, which appeared recently at the New York Shakespeare Festival.

Could use some stuff for the column!
