Can you remember the dorm and room number of every room you ever had on campus? How about your H.B. number? If not, don't despair, because all of those Dartmouth memories will come gushing back like the flow from a keg dropped down a flight of stairs (they call me Mister Simile) at the class of 1987 Fifth Reunion, to be held June 19-21 next year.

It's not too early to start preparing for the reunion. Each month between now and the grand event, I will provide a "Reunion Preparation Tip" to help you get a leg up on your necessary planning. This month's tip: don't forget to pack a lampshade. You never know when you might need to wear one.

Reunion Chair Matt McIlwain has assembled quite a cast of planners to put all of the pieces together. Theresa Nibi will be our treasurer, and Ginny Wise and husband Kevin Wilkins will be in charge of entertainment. Publicity is being handled by KKMcMahon and Elizabeth Weidberg, and Victor Singletry is scheduled to give the memorial service. Raffiq Nathoo is in charge of the class project in connection with the reunion, and John Gannon will be making sure that we all have enough to eat and drink. Finally, Peter Murane is responsible for attendance.

If you would like to pitch in to this effort, please contact any of the people mentioned above. Do the same even if you'd just like to offer some suggestions.

The news this time around focuses almost entirely on weddings. First off, Cheryl Maier and John Walsh were married on May 4 in Connecticut with a mini-reunion's worth of 87s in attendance. Steve Kessel served as best man and was joined in the wedding party by Peter Panagos, Sue Axelrod and LisaPabich. Also on hand were Conrad Smith,Steve Conlin, Alike Sullivan, Alan Johnson, Clay Burns, John Campbell, AndyMcGrath, Neil Schiff, Ken Laughinghouse, and Kevin Donovan.

The groom is an assistant VP at the Bank of New England in Boston, and the bride is the educational supervisor for Head Start in Charlestown, Mass., where she helps underprivileged children enter into and adjust to the educational system. Peter has started his second year of medical school at Emory, and Steve K. is the director of development and strategic planning for Share Our Strength, a Washington-based non-profit organization that is the largest source of funds nationwide for hunger relief. Conrad is in business school at the University of Michigan, and Steve C., himself a recent groom, has enrolled at Tuck.

In other educational news, RobertMassucco received a degree in veterinary medicine from Tufts in May. John Steele, meanwhile, earned the title of associate of the Society of Actuaries. John has recently been associated as an associate with Hewitt Associates in Rowayton. Conn. Scott Taylor has begun his first year in a graduate political science program at Emory University and will be focusing on African politics.
