When he was a boy about ten years old, Norm Shellman decided that the girl he would marry was Lucille (Lucy) Cutter, a Wilmette, I11., neighbor. Indeed their marriage in 1936 endured for over SO wonderful years until Lucy's death. Norm has moved to Littleton, Colo., to be near their daughter and grandchildren. He makes his home in a lifetime retirement community, and sends his best to all class "survivors."
A memorial service for Courtney Brown, dean emeritus of Columbia Business School, who died April 28, 1990, was held at the Columbia University St. Paul's Chapel on October 1. Many friends attended whom Marjorie had not seen for years. The order of service was most impressive in remembrance of our gifted classmate.
We were sorry to learn that SandyDouglass has Alzheimer's disease, and that he and his wife, Mary, are now in Edgewood, N.M., to be near their son, Alan. Sandy's book Sixty Years Behind the Mast tells the story of his life (including his years at Dartmouth) and particularly describes his great interest in sailing. He designed the Thistle-class sailboat, which is very popular in many regattas nationwide.
Hank Parker thanked the class for his birthday greeting even though his years seem too numerous. Seldom, if ever, missing a class reunion, he and Jane have the 65th in mind. Hank's thoughts about having more ladies on the reunion committee bring back memories of our 15th "Chintz Reunion," when wives were first welcomed to 1926 reunions.
