My mail this month brought an announcement that will interest those of you who first discovered James Joyce with Peter Bien in Comp. Lit. 24. Bob Bill has just published a new book, Jocoserious Joyce: The Fateof Folly in "Ulysses" (Cornell University Press). Bob is serving as acting chair of the Theater Department at Williams, where he is a mainstay of the English faculty.

Reports from the Boston mini-reunion are that some of us can still give a great performance on the squash courts. Pete Rosser successfully defended his crown at the annual event. Among those spotted there were MickyBeard, who is back in New England, and RichPalino who together amused the crowd with Beta jock stories.

By now you should have received notice of our Third Annual Spring Mini-Reunion and Theater Party in New York. Bill Yaggy has arranged for us to attend Jerry Zaks' great production of Six Degrees of Separation at Lincoln Center on Saturday, May 4. If you didn't get the mailing, call Bill at home: 212/601-3018. It should be a great evening.

A group of us have been meeting recently in Sam Ostrow's office at Rowland Company to help him plan "the big one." In between work trips to Saudi Arabia, Sam not only is overseeing our effort to meet our 1991 alumni fund goal of $145,000, but also to gear up for the major drive for our 25th Reunion gift. (Remember the big reunion is set for June 1822,1992. Save the date.) You will soon receive information on what we yet need to do to meet the College's objectives in 1991 and to set the start of our 1992 campaign. The steering committee has set an impressive goal of $1,367,00 (including three-year pledges) for our 25th. This will take everyone's participation, so begin to think about the role you can play. . Send me your news!
