I got a good letter from my freshman roommate Bob Foster. After managing his family's insurance agency, he studied for the ministry and directed a retreat center before returning to the family business as a real estate appraiser in Boston. Married to Connie for 40 years, they have four children and five grandchildren, all near their home in Lexington, Mass. Bob has had two coronary bypass operations and an aortic aneurysm repaired. No plans to retire. I hope he'll come to our next reunion or mini this fall.

Professor John Moulton retired last summer, married Inga, and then, he writes, "cancer found in August; testicles removed in September; slow but steady regaining of strength, so Inga and I were able to go on a long trip, leaving December 9." His superb letter tells of his fighting the cancer, and of their stupendous winter journey, camping, skiing, and relishing life to the fullest. As he worked on the trip, so he is working on the cancer, doing everything possible to conquer, and to live each day. He recommends Ingrid Dilley's Renewing Life Support Groups for those near Minneapolis, and for info on other support groups, Bernie Seigel's Exceptional Cancer Patients, 1302 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511. "If any of you need help, I would appreciate the opportunity. Besides being a good listener/counselor, diere are many other things I can do." 310 E. Sunset Court, Madison, WI 53705, 608/231-2757.

Dr. Jim Farmer and Serene have a tenth grandchild. They are co-chairs for the United Fund Drive of Ashtabula County, Ohio, this fall. Tom and Janet Ruggles reuned with Johnny Knapp and Joe Ely in Captiva, Fla., last spring. We are terribly sorry to learn that John's wife of 18 years, Joanne, died this winter. Ed and Audrey Noyes had a nine-month tour of duty in Ireland just before he retired from Massachusetts Mutual. Paul Van Orden retired December 31 as executive vice president of General Electric, and is now executive-in-residence and visiting professor at Columbia Business School.

Phil and Jinny Brown visited Bobbie andBill Collins in Honolulu before the Collinses moved to Port "Townsend, Wash. Bill worked with Cal Sia on the Child Abuse program. Phil is still at the Mayo Clinic. Professor DavidSteinberg's vacation from Georgetown University included trips to Korea and Indonesia for research on books. He continues to write on Burma.

Mary Jane Devitt, widow of Bob, died of cancer in March. She was a regular at reunions and minis. We shall miss her smile and interest in all our doings. Dr. Ray Peppard died in Phoenix on March 17. He helped in medical missions to Vietnam, St. Lucia, and Nicaragua, after retiring as a Colonel in the air force. Our deep sympathy to his widow, Jean, and his five children. Jim Malone's beloved wife, Rosemary, died of a pulmonary embolism March 19. For 22 years she was a reference librarian at Middleton (Mass.) Library. Many will remember her from our 40th. Our deep sympathy to Jim and their five children.
