Dick Husband, Tallahassee, Fla., keeps busy despite physical handicaps from a minor April 1990 stroke. As 'past rear commander, he is still active after 35 year's
service to the U.S. Power Squadron, and he also acts as time-keeper at Florida State athletic events. One of his home chores is powermowing the lawns. Dorothy (not in die best of health) and Dick miss their many farreaching Elderhostel education experiences.
Local news at North Hill, Needham, Mass., comes from Dick and Ruth Nichols (G-404). Last year they attended the bicentennial of the founding of Peterborough, N.H., and they also attended this year's annual founding-date picnic, Dick having been born and raised in Peterborough. Carl Schipper (F-304) still commutes almost every week to his Boston law office, but his round-trip fare gets him home early. Marjorie Hopkins (1-402) occasionally attends '26 get-togethers, including the recent Eighth Annual Dartmouth North Hill Convocation. Don Norstrand (K-204) recently asked Det Harwood and resident friend Fox Hill of Westwood (Mass.) retirement community, to visit North Hill for a change of scenery and for canapes and dinner. Henry Blake came from Wellesley to make the evening more Dartmouth-oriented.
Apparently 16 classmates now live in lifetime retirement communities, and Chairman Tubba Weymouth and Barbara are delighted and thankful to be residents of Kendal at Hanover. Your scribe stopped to see them in June when homeward bound from northern Vermont and was impressed by the many features plus Hanover surroundings. Lifetime retirement communities nationwide continue to attract 1926 classmates and widows.
