It's fall here in the Northeast (actually it's fall everywhere, I know, but here it's special, as you all know and remember). Excuse the temporary oxygen drought between the ears, but I'm looking forward to Homecoming in Hanover this weekend, and I have a date.

Bob Kirkpatrick writes, "It was serendipitous to read in the recent Alumni Magazine column that Paul Tyson lives in London . . . two days after receiving the issue, my family and I also shipped off to London, where I am now trying to learn my new assignment as Leo Burnett Advertising's European regional media director. We're still adjusting to expatriate life, but at least USA Today's international Oriole's pennant chase but also with the stats for my rotisserie-league baseball team, and it lets my six-year-old son know how badly his Cubbies fared each day. With the dollar worth only half a pound, my family and I would humbly appreciate anything the financial wizards of die class can do to our currency's steady and continuous fall in value."

In the last months since Bob's letter, there's good news and bad news. First, the bad ... in spite of the Os' valiant season Bob will have to join fellow Oriole fans Bill Price, Stu Simms,Rudy Ellis, at al. in the eternal Brooklyn lament, "wait till next year"—as opposed to the Brooklyn raspberry (unprintable here). The good news is that either Fred Crossman moved from the stock option pits to the currency pits or Bob Jeffe used his last paycheck to short pounds against dollars, and Voila!—your other wish has been granted, Bob.

In the oversight department, I neglected to note Dale Heussner's move from N.Y.C. to Westport, Conn., with wife Bonnie. The move is ancient history now, but Dale has more recently moved his financial systems consultancy to a sole practice in Westport as well. His specialty areas are hospital finances and financial services.

Starting this column in October, I now find myself visiting you around the holidays. Thanks for inviting me in, all the best holiday wishes, and be careful with the balls in the tree.
