The most significant development for our class since I last wrote to you is that Tom Adams has agreed to become our head class agent. Tom was in charge for about ten years back in the time approaching and after our 25th Reunion. He did an outstanding job then and will do so again—with the help of all of us. He plans to expand the number of assisting agents, so when he contacts you to help, please say "yes!" Tom is still in the public relations business in hometown Devon, Penn. Tom, we are grateful and we can show our gratitude by coughing up the coin of the realm when asked. Perhaps "coughing up is a bit crude. (Probably a flashback to my political days.) Let us say, "giving generously."
Btyan Battey has a new address. It is 301 Spring Hill Lane, Lebanon, PA 17042. In his message he didn't say if he's retired or not. All he said was, "Everybody eat lots of Lebanon bologna." One would surmise such is made in Lebanon. Bryan, I don't know exactly where Lebanon is but bologna or not I'll come if I can hear you play the piano.
Bob Yung writes that he visited the campus in late summer and almost became lost, Hanover no longer being the small village of his memories. Joe's semi-retired after 40 years, now working in life insurance with MONY, and spends part of the year in Cape Coral, Fla.
Albert Martin was recently elected a trustee of Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation. It is located in Plymouth Notch, Vt., and is a group that meets yearly to commemorate the swearing in of Vice President Coolidge in 1923 at the Union Christian Church. We all read about the Dartmouth Alumni Council. Did you know that four members of our class serve on it? Duncan Fitchet is our representative; Walt Snickenberger represents the DCAD (formerly DCAC); BobKimball represents the Dartmouth Clubs of Northern New England; and Dick Esperon represents the clubs of Region Five in the South. I think Reg Pierce has something to do with the Council too, but I don't know what it is, mainly because he refused to tell me. So if you want to complain we've got plenty of guys who'll listen.
I have the sad duty to relate that two or our classmates have died, David Narva on October 8 and George Walley on October 23. To their families we extend our deepest sympathy.
